the latest preview of Mass Effect, BioWare's upcoming sci-fi RPG for the Xbox 360.
Since this is a role playing game, there are levels to advance and players will have specific classes and skill trees to progress though. Add to this the customization and upgrading of weapons. One example we were shown was a sniper rifle fitted with an incendiary modification. When the target was hit, it burst into flames. Add to this the branching and effective dialogue that we saw in Jade Empire and KOTOR and imagine it kicked up to the next generation. It would appear that the depth of gameplay we are hoping for will be here.
