I see that Voodoo Extreme posted up a
preview of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction this weekend. Here's a snippet:
Besides the cosmetic tweaks, they’ve improved the game’s interface, increased the size of the player’s private stash, plus also added a ton of new magic items, from new types of gems (jewels) to class specific equipment that bestows special bonuses to the characters that wield them.
Just from exploring most of the first act I’ve stumbled across some cool new helms for the barbarian and druid, special shields for the paladin and necromancer, and new wand class items for the sorceress, not to mention some sweet special weapons for the assassin.
