Heroes o' M&M IV Taffy

Because I'm such a big fan of the Heroes of Might & Magic series and that, out of all the strategy games out there, they for me come close to the experience of playing an RPG... here's the latest:

The wicked HOMM site, Celestial Heavens, has been steadily dosing out information and, when there's no new news on the game, making up their own... kind of like what DiabloII.net does with the new screenshots and commentary/speculation of various issues (a very good thing). For the latest compilation of known info, saunter over to their HOMM IV Faq. And for all the released screenshots including some you might not have known existed, take a look at their screen gallery.

On a HOMM tangent:
Will this be the last Heroes of Might & Magic with a number? I'm guessing it might be... that the next iteration will have a different suffix other than a number such as V (five). Of course, 3DO is long known for keeping their numbers going... unlike the game Warlords: Battlecry where it was actually Warlords 4 in disguise.

That brings up another point I wanted to address. When will the game become 3D? Is this just a teaser game... made to hold us over (as they did with Might & Magic VIII) while they work on an all-new 3D version? What made them go with another 2D game that looks incredibly similar to HOMM III? As one of the biggest fans of the series (HOMM II is in my top 5 games ever... III not far behind only because it's just more of everything) I whole-heartedly hope they do not put the extreme rush job on IV and that the gameplay is as refined as the previous ones... and at the very least, as fun to play.
