Gameplay Monthly has published a
preview of ArenaNet's Guild Wars, based upon their time in one of the game's recent beta events. Here's a little something to get you started:
No more will you have to spend countless hours grinding on the leveling treadmill to get to the interesting parts of the game, because Guild Wars' combat is designed to be strategically interesting and challenging right from the beginning. The instant travel system allows you go to the beginning of any quest that you've previously unlocked. Guild Wars is using a unique skill system that prevents you from making an uncompetitive character because of the choices you made early on. Players can experiment and not worry about possibly making a bad decision that could ruin character. ArenaNet has built Guild Wars so that all characters live in one seamless world. So you'll never meet new players only to discover that you can't play with them or compete against them because their characters are on a different server than yours.
