The guys at epiGamer have posted
a preview of Gothic II, which includes the following snippet that might interest Baldur's Gate fans:
I’m hoping for a similar leap that the Baldur’s Gate 2 had over it predecessor, which certainly had its problems. But as always the game may not click. The high powered graphics engine may limit the game away from the mass market despite Piranha Bytes attempts to create lots of tuning knobs. The German accents may put everybody off. Yet despite that, I have a good feeling for this game, both from the huge community that seems to have come from nowhere and because this is the inevitable future of single player adventure/RPGs and the industry needs to kick itself out of the bomb crater that Baldur’s Gate left behind.
