| | We've teamed up with CD Projekt and Atari to give away five copies of The Witcher signed by no less than thirty members of the development team! In the event that you didn't get the holiday gift you were hoping for (or even if you did), snagging one of these should brighten up the holidays quite a bit. For a chance to win one of the signed copies, simply send us an email with a paragraph or two describing why you feel The Witcher stands out during such a strong year of video game releases. The winners will be chosen randomly on January 8, 2008, so you have two weeks to get your entry in. Due to international laws and shipping requirements, this contest is only available to entrants located in the United States. Good luck!

A simple reason based on previously released information, interviews with the development team, or even the notable features listed on the back of the box would be fine.
And I'm sure even those who have played it would like to get their hands on a signed copy anyway .

Indeed. Could anyone explain the law reason for this region restriction? >_>
I can't imagine the shipping being a problem. They can't cough up the 5x35 bucks tops? So hard to believe Europe get's left out of all this stuff, we have quite the market here.

Atari shipped all five copies to us, so we'd be responsible for all international shipping costs and paperwork. Not only does it get prohibitively expensive to ship something to certain countries in the world (with much more risk of damage and loss), but the laws for contests in many countries are far different than those in the United States. Therefore, we have to limit all contests to the US in order to protect ourselves. You'll find that many similar contests are limited to the US for this very same reason.
Trust me, I really wish there was a way to open up all of our contests worldwide - especially this one.

Such a shame, I'd happily pay the shipping cost for a signed copy ^___^

If I lived in the US, Hell I'd enter too, even if I already have a copy!

This contest is now closed and emails have been sent out to the winners:
Dave L. - Winston Salem, NC
John B. - Tollhouse, CA
Brian A. - Springfield, MA
Steven E. - Winter Garden, FL
Brandon D. - Seattle, WA
Should I not hear back from any of these people by the end of the week, I'll choose a replacement winner. In any event, if you weren't one of the lucky five, keep your eyes on GB in the near future for more contests!
