Dragon Age: Origins to be Available on Consoles

As we previously feared, BioWare's Greg Zeschuk has revealed that Dragon Age: Origins will make its way to consoles at some point.

Namely, during BioWare president Greg Zeschuk's demonstration of Dragon Age: Origins, the executive revealed that the game would arrive on consoles in addition to the PC. Unfortunately, the developer would only say that the titles would arrive "in the future," and Zelschuk did not elaborate on whether the title would surface on all platforms simultaneously.

So much for PC exclusive!

It's a shame. Not even from a console warz viewpoint, as much as I feel that publisher's skewered perspective of the console market harms console games intrinsically, but more from looking at what BioWare is trying to do.

I saw Dragon Age as a last ditch attempt to see how their roots were, to make a kind of Baldur's Gate-esque RPG for the PC and see if it would still sell, before they completely abandon the PC RPG market for console RPGFPS games like Mass Effect.

Perhaps they already decided to leave the PC be, and Dragon Age is already slated to be their last PC-first release. Might well be EA's influence, there.

Really sad tho honestly wasn't expecting anything else (especially from EA).

If the game is to be ported (the decision probably been planned for for awhile) it means the tech have been nerfed to fit a platform that hasn't (necessarily) got a hard-drive but spins a DVD at full speed all the time thanks to some idiotic decision made by some idiotic ex boss at some idiotic software company...
