Diablo3.com Teaser Not a Diablo III Announcement

Diablo3.com has officially noted that their mysterious countdown that sent the internet aflutter has nothing to do with what many believed might be a Diablo III announcement.

Things the May 1 Announcement are not:
1. It is not an official announcement of Diablo 3
2. It is not about an upcoming Diablo novel
3. It is not a Network merge

Honestly, why would they say "half the internet is going to link to us" if it's anything other than Diablo 3? This is all on you, Diablo3.com. Well, you and that inexplicable tendency of gamers on the internet to get hopping mad about rumours.

But hey, if they can show the number of hits they get to potential advertisers, who cares? They figure their audience is filled with morons who can barely remember how to tie their shoes in the morning. They'll forget all about being used if a game ever shows up, and all the reviewers wet themselves over it.
