Diablo III Preview

UGO Gamesblog is offering up a quick preview of Diablo III, recapping what we know about Blizzard's action RPG sequel so far.

In terms of the actual game, Diablo III is Diablo and Diablo II, but prettier. Environments are destructible in lovely ways, shadows look like… well, shadows, there are high quality weapon and magic effects galore and so on. If you liked the previous two Diablo games, then you’re going to go batsh*t nuts for this one.

The story is set in the world of Sanctuary, same as it ever was, and it takes place 20 years after Diablo II. Enough time has passed since the horrific events of the previous game that most of Sanctuary population has managed to put the horrors of that dark period out of their heads. While the public remains blissfully ignorant, darker forces are aligning which could once again threaten the land.

Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo III will feature five character classes in all, though only two have been identified so far. The Barbarian will be returning from the previous games, complete with some new skills to complement the old ones. A Witch Doctor class has also been announced. All characters can be either male or female.
