HomeLan Fed had the opportunity to chat with composer Jason Hayes, who wrote music for Diablo, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft while working for Blizzard Entertainment. Here's a little something to get you started:
Q: What was it like working at Blizzard and handling the music for games like Starcraft, Diablo, and World of Warcraft?

A: Being a part of the development team at Blizzard has been an amazing opportunity. Everyone there has such a passion for making great games, and it is a super-charged creative environment. The culture at Blizzard is casual and easy-going, but also intensely focused. You could say that they are very serious about having fun!

Of course, the company has changed a lot over the last few years as the games have gotten bigger. I remember everyone thinking the StarCraft team was so massive at around 25 people, but today the cinematics department alone exceeds that number. In those days, I'm sure no one would have believed how big the World of WarCraft team would be! But through everything, that same spirit of energy and fun has been a constant.
