Electronic Toybox has conducted
an interview with BioWare's Jay Watamaniuk, in which the community manager reveals information about his day-to-day duties in relation to Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire, and other BioWare titles. Here we go:
Q: Of the titles that you manage, and with so many AAA titles in that list, which game takes the most of your time?
A: Right now it is all about Jade Empire. From the PR point of view we have been very busy creating content that gets sent out to press sites, our own official Jade Empire site and preparing the very slick flash-based Jade Empire site. The game is hits store shelves on April 14th so in the last 5-6 weeks things have been very crazy. Crazy like a tree full of screeching monkeys after they have eaten a whole lot of Pop tarts and Skittles. Crazy like fighting demon ninjas with a ticking bomb strapped to your chest while the Queen Mother dangles precariously over a pit of lettuce-fed circus lions while a group of trained pistol-totin’ assassin mimes take pot shots at yo’ Momma. That kind of crazy man.
As for the long-term Neverwinter Nights is by far the biggest group I need to be involved with. From new content, profiling community projects, online cons and so on NWN is still a huge part of BioWare’s community and the NWN fans are the most hard-working and amazing group on the net I have encountered.
