Post BioWare Interviews

IGN has put up some tidbits of their GDC talk with Greg & Ray of BioWare, discussing Mass Effect, Dragon Age and design philosophy in general.
"Dragon Age you can picture fitting back into the more core BioWare experience," said Zeschuk. "it's fun for us to get back to fantasy, there's a huge amount of passion for that." The game will take on a dark, brooding atmosphere, they say, yet remain a heroic experience. "We'll certainly have humor, but the world is a pretty heavy world. I don't think it's a direct social commentary, but there's a lot of strife…it feels very mature. It's not like a kids fantasy where there's dancing elves. It's for adults." They promised more information will start to roll out soon.
GameSpy's interview discussed their MMO.
GameSpy: What will make the BioWare MMO different? What aspects of your company's philosophy are you interested in bringing to the MMO space?

Muzyka: Our mission as a studio is to deliver the best story-driven games in the world. That's what we're trying to do right now. But our vision is to take that to emotion, like a really deep emotional connection on different levels for the players. In all of our games, you can see that. That's the goal we're aspiring to with emotion, making people feel something, like they care about their squad mates, they feel a sense of awe at the discovery of new worlds, they feel pride [toward their] progression, or visceral fear in combat. On a primal level, we're trying to make you feel something, like a chill down the back of your spine when you see something so cool. If we can get that just once in a game, that's the magic moment. But we're trying to deliver that as a sustained kind of thing. It's an ambitious goal, but if you look at the games that are in that video, you can see how we're trying to pursue that, and we're not compromising the quality in the process.
