Post BioShock PC Demo Now Available

As promised this morning, 2K Games has released a 1.8GB playable demo of the highly anticipated PC version of BioShock. Here are several mirrors for you to pick from:

FilePlanet
WorthPlaying
FileShack
3D Downloads

Additionally, both NVIDIA and ATI have released new drivers that are specifically optimized for BioShock, so you'll want to grab those as well if you plan on checking out the demo (or full release tomorrow).

Sorry for necro-posting but I just want to say that I downloaded this demo and gave it a go yesterday. Have to turn off all the graphics options, inculding High Pixel Shaders and Distortions to get better performance (Using a Geforce 6600, by the way). Still looked good, though, even without the shaders enabled thanks to the superb art direction.

Anyway, based on the demo, I find the controls are troublesome to deal with, due to being able to use both plasmids and guns. Not a big deal but can be a bit of a chore at times, especially in the middle of a battle. The enemies aren't that smart at all, as they charge at you with a pipe and even those armed with guns don't take cover when being fired upon.

Didn't get to fight the 'Big Daddy' as the demo ended at the part where you're trapped in some airlock room after the restaurant level with the picture of Andrew Ryan yelling accusations at you.

Haven't tried bioshock, but was considering downing the demo to see it. Normally I'm not big on FPS games, but do play them occasionally.

Almost forgot to mention this: You cannot save the game when playing. That's a bummer. Almost thought that Command & Conquer 3 demo was bad enough.
