The Assault Garage had the opportunity to sit down with NetDevil's Scott Brown for
a quick chat about their upcoming vehicular MMORPG, Auto Assault. Here's a bit to start you off:
Q: Is the crafting system robust enough to allow for players to build customs chassis or whole cars? Will we ever see a master car builder?
A: Yes, you absolutely can craft cars! You can choose different materials and experiment with the chassis to get all kinds of statistical combinations. The odds are really stacked against you having a vehicle just like anybody else's. I'm sure that people will come up with basic templates on what makes a good vehicle, but it really comes down to the job you're trying to do in-game and on top of that, what kind of loot you've crafted or picked up out on the highways. Each item has randomly generated stats, so you'll always be trying to make or looking for an engine with better heat dissipation or a gun with a higher DPS. When you make an item, there's a chance that you'll memorize how it was made and you'll then be the only or one of the few people on that server who knows how to make that particular item. If you pull off something really cool, be prepared to make a lot of bar (in-game money)!
