What does hot thread mean?

Hi,

I see many threads have a picture of a flaming letter by them,what does this mean?

It means a specific number of views - I'm unsure of how many, but I would think around 300-400 views.

No, actually. It doesn't mean views.

Hot threads usually have a specific number of replies. The default being at least 50 replies, not sure what it's set as on here.

EDIT: Nevermind apparently. Looked around and it does look like it goes off of views. Normally it goes off of Posts, but meh. Apologies Xan.

Actually it goes off on both. 40 posts or 300-400 views (I think) whichever is reached first.
