| | | Log in p;rob;lem I wonder if anybody experienced any difficulty loggin' in today. I was repeatedly given a message that my user name or password were incorrect or something to that effect. Plus, while typing my user name in, a semicolon kept mysteriously appearing after some letters, so it was like L;ad;y... Somehow I managed to log in, on the forth attempt, if only to make sure I was still a member of GB. You know.
Anyway, by that time I had to go already, so I just logged out. That happened a few hours ago. I thought that was a random glitch, and perhaps it was. However, I had the same problem again, including the semicolons, just a few minutes ago. I was able to log in on the forth attempt, after checking the "cookie" window first.
I use IE 7.

| | | If semicolons keep appearing when you type, that sounds like a problem with your keyboard.

| | Yeah, sounds more like keyboard problem, as the same problem seems to occur elsewhere as well (see the title of this thread )
Are you by perhaps using wireless keyboard? At times my wireless keyboard and mouse just goes nuts as they get some random signal from somewhere that interferes the normal behaviour...

I intentionally included semicolons in the title. To emphasize the idea.
And no, this is not a wireless keyboard.
If my keyboard malfunctions, then it should happen every time I type, but this is not the case. It only happens when I try to log in. Besides, the semicolons galore is the least of my problems. I am able to log in only on a third or forth attempt (without any semicolons), checking "cookies" before I type in my name and password (if I don't check cookies at all or check them damn ones after typing in my name but before typing in my password, I get the message that I entered wrong blah-blah). And that cannot be a keyboard issue, can it?

| | | When you type in your password, you only see asterisks, so are you sure you're not getting any semicolons in there? I figured it was the semicolons that were causing your login problems.
Anyway, I have no idea why you'd only have the problem on one page at this site, and nowhere else.

| | The semicolons did not replace any letters, they were a surprising addition. The number of letters in my password did not change (I watched), so I assume there were no added semicolons there. And, even without them, I could not log in: I had to hit the "cookie jar" before I typed in both the name and the password.
As a matter of fact, I don't have that log in problem any more. It is gone without any action on my part. Mystery. Probably a glitch? Oh well.
