This is where the formal deliberations will be undertaken for the SYMISTAN government. Welcome to our senate. A tent pegged down on three sides. Please leave the horses and trucks parked outside. No weapons will be brought in here. Lastly we have no toliets so please relieve yourself nearly 0.5 kilometers away. Thank you.

"We are broadcasting here from in front of the former Senate building, which was firebombed a few minutes ago by a person wearing golden speedos, shouting "death to democracy, death to the traitor Fas, long live COMM." We are watching horrible scenes of riots and mass hysteria here, as the former enforcer of the High COMM known to the masses as CM, has unexpectedly switched sides and tried to impose some sort of democracy to the tranquil dictatorship of Symistan. Words fail us, as we have to watch supporters of the traitor CM being forced to play "Daikatana" for hours on end. Where will this end? Where is NATO, the USA, The UN, Oprah? Follow us, as we give you hour-to-hour reports of the attempted rebellion in Symistan. From the capitol of Fablesburg, this is the Moonbiter."

Most of the senators were already in, or arriving. Isaac Niyawa, an Afghan Veteran, listened to his earpiece, nodded his head slightly, and stood up.

"Look carefully." He said with a loud voice. At that moment, two trucks arrived at the scene, almost driving over some journalist type of person.
40 to 50 soldiers armed with Kalashnikovs and slightly outdated but powerfull American weapons, disembarked shortly after.

"These soldiers are now occupying this Senate. We do not intend to do harm, but the weapons are loaded. A total of twothousand armed and trained troops are currently dispatched to all strategic locations to occupy this country, defend the new borders, suppress civil disorder and drive the remaining Russians out, in no specific order. I will say it once more, we do not intend harm, and the occupation will last only as long as strictly necessary. I have made a little list of demands."

He showed the other members of the Senate a piece of paper:

Demands:
-enforcement of Sharia law (alterations are allowed, if not too radical)
-international press and foreign intelligence, ambassadies and agencies 
  are forbidden during the time period of at least one year starting immediately
-the right and freedom to establish al Qa'ida training camps

"I will leave it like this for now, but if I or my collegues have anything to add, they will also be applied."

He signaled the soldiers to back off and move out of sight but stay on the look-out and alert.

"I'm a reasonable man and I'm open to your suggestions and questions."

He directed his attention to Fas.

"I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience, but there's certain things we want to get straight before we start acting like Capitalist Westerners. I'm sure you understand"

Guys (ik911's post aside, which is in keeping with plans for the thread), did you even bother reading the fact that Fas set this up as a "no spam" thread for use in the game he's creating? Or do you just not care about the board and its rules?

I move for anew form of currency, hearing should be held tomorrow with every group represented ideas for the new currency. Our country cant get back on its feet without a form of currency, for too long we have rested on the barter system, it is time that we form our own money allowing us to unify and then we can break free from the oppresive Russia as one.

May I suggest that we adopt the Euro as our form? That way we can at least get some form of stability and maybe we can get the EU to alot us grants, once the people in charge see our country, they surely wouldnt want one of their European brothers to be left in a state of war and turmoil. In addition to the hearing on currency, I also suggest we request a visit from the EU people in charge.

After our decision on currency, or during, we should decide on a National Flag along with a National Crest, how can we possibly be taken seriously in our current stat of anarchy? After we establish a currency and a National Symbol, we should alot a certain amount of money to each citizen to get their own private lives in order. Of course, in the process of distributing the money we shall place a 15% tax rate allowing all governement members to have some form of subsistance and also allowing us to build something better than this miserable hole we call a senate building. The construction will create much needed jobs in the area and it is all in the best interest of the people, I assure you all.

to control the anarchy issue i suggest we institute martial law. let me take care of things and in the next few months things should settle down immensly. we should have a common currency, and national symbol. what good is a milita without a national symbol to under.

Doing such an act would work against the very goals of this Senate, in that we are working to achieve a strong, independant nation free of the mistakes of previous leadership. We should be working with the people, creating social systems, and encrouage the development of a social infrastructure before we considering doing anything to hamper the growth of the nation.

If we were to institute a state controlled subsidy system, we would be able to build our economy and infrastructure in a much swifter method, as our people would not be in constant need, nor would that have looming debt over their heads.

you would let anrachy claim our streets? i for one will not sit by and let our city be reduced to ruble around our feet. as i have stated this controll will be based on the senate, and for a limited time. before building can occur, a stable foundation, i.e the people, the chaos must be eliminated.

how long do you propose to have this martial law? We must set guidelines, longer than 2 months would seem like just another facist country, we want our people to be free, this idea doesnt seem like the best one. We dont want our people to be pressed against the wall, or backed into a corner. They have spent all this time being oppressed. I request a meeting with an EU representative so we can request a Grant to get on our feet. Once we do that we can pass out bonds for citizens to build what their community needs.

i propose we keep the martial law in affect till the chaos has been controlled. then we shall remove the restrictions one by one till everyone is confortable again. i only propose this because i love this country.

as i have stated before we the miltia shall be under senate rule. i have no wish to rule, i would lead this city into debt.

I apologize, by "let me take care of things" I assumed you meant place you in charge, and without knowing your credentials I cant imagine putting you in charge. Perhaps if we place martial law for a deadline. I propose 3 months and then we evaluate after that period.
