Okay, firstly, I was thinking that we keep that thread as clean from anything "unimportant" as possible, ie only character sheets and journal notes/maps and those. It's easier to search information from there that way.

Secondly, I would like to have control over those character sheets myself, reasons are:
-Just to be sure you don't change anything to what it shoudn't be
-While DMing, I can make fast those adjustments to sheets, like affecting spells and such while waiting you replies.
-This is only example, it may or may not happen, but if someone of you get pickpocketed, and the player don't notice, it's easier to me to remove that pickpocketed gold without pointing out that "Hey, you got pickpocketed. Remove 10 gp). It's more realistic when if you get pickpocketed and don't notice, you don't realize you are missing something until you need that item/money. Same goes if I decide you lost something without noticing, it's more easier to me, and IMO funnier to players.

Okay, so I think we can modify the list from my last post in that way that everybody posts their characters here, with completed information, including name, bio and such, we talk over what must be changed, then I start the thread for characters and notes, copy final characters to that thread, and start the game-thread.

How does this sound?

Yeah, what I meant when I wrote the comment, was that the character gets posted on that thread and we discuss any changes that need to be made on this discussion thread, then edit the character with the changes.

While I would prefer greater control over the information regarding my character I see your point. I suppose it would be possible for players to have their own post in the character thread that has details they consider important (which would be edited rather than more posts piled on top). Just as long as it doesn't conflict with yours.

Can you scan in any of the maps or things when we get to the right point? That could be good.

I'll probably write up 2 characters, one with horse and one w/o and decide which to use closer to the time.

Hmm, if you'd like my help with the campaign, I'll attempt to join. I may be quite busy, and it seems as if the majority of those involved aren't in the US. I'm on the US eastern time zone (GMT -5), so I may not fit into the game. I'm not sure. My work schedule is random, that may come into play as well. If I don't fit in, I'll offer that I can consult with you on things if you need me to, or to go over the character's and see if they're legal and what not. That can be quite a bit of work once you get up to higher level's and figuring things out and all.

Would you like me to prepare a character so you would have a demonstration of a sheet made up and such for the others? I know it's hard keeping track of things as a DM, and doing a character sheet in a certain manner can save you a lot of time in figuring things out during play.

Hi everyone,

I see a lot of things moving already
At the moment i'm trying to go through the reference in ww.d20srd.org to see if i can make sense of things (if possible, maybe i'll choose a cleric?). Now it's 11.45am here in Malaysia...i'm in office atm...

Sorry i'm a bit behind things but i'm not as free as i would have liked <sigh>. It's easier to contact me by GB pm as i don't necessarily check my e-mails often and i don't use messenger...

Well, whilst I would not deign to call myself an expert, I have been playing D&D for about two and a half years with a group of my mates at school. I have also started Free-Form forum roleplaying, going on about four months now.

From my experience, D&D with people you know personally can be a bit stinted in the RPing department, but Foruming is awesome there, so I look forward to combining the two aspects, hopefully Twaynith will create a bit of... intrest in the party *evil grin*

So I'm probably going to be a paladin, Kythras a ranger, darkwolf a cleric and dj a sorcerer. That's a good mix of characters
And of course, add Magrus if we sort that time issue out.

I'm probably going to go for an Aasimar using the rules on the Savage Races website.

First off, roll a 4d6 6 times.
See how my luck is...

This is good :
15 (5+2+5+3)- take out the lowest (2) = 13
15 (6+4+1+4) = 14
13 (3+6+3+1) = 12
13 (4+2+5+2) = 11
18 (6+3+6+3) = 15

Considering not having a mount yet. At 5th level the Paladin can summon one.

Okay, so we have four players and possible Magrus.
Not bad, I actually expected worse

Okay, so couple of thins abou thwen playing, especially consider how to post.
This is how you will recognize what everything is in my posts. I also hope that everybody uses similiar way, just to ease things.

This is normal DM text, like requesting for die-rolls or description of monster, situations etc. Also actions are told in this text

Can you use a brighter colour (not so clear on black background) or bold/italics/underline instead?

Heh, you probably are better with things than I am. I'm still trying to switch over to the newest version from being used to 2nd edition from years ago.

@Kipi, Looking back over the timing of things, based on the time mentioned I think that would be midnight on Saturday night/ Sunday morning for me. I could try it, although if I end up working early on Sunday's at some point, that would ruin things. Working all day Saturday too might ruin that, or I'd be late if I closed Saturday, being that I normally don't get out of work until 1am or later in that case.

In any case, I offered to make a character sheet to be used as a guideline, whether or not I end up joining. I don't know how you're doing equipment, so I'll just use what it says for the PHB average for a wizard for a starting character. It doesn't show up on the SRD. I'll also assume that I can just spend 20 gp and say I have "camp equipment", so I don't have to go through the trouble of listing all of it. Rope, bedroll, torches, flint and tinder, rations, pouches, backpack, a set of clothes, etc. If that's not alright, I'll put things down and do the math however.

I put links to...well, you'll see. This way, if you need to refer to something on my sheet, you can just click on whatever it is you are looking at. If you do happen to make your own thread of character sheets like you said, which is a good idea, beware all the code. It's messy when you open it up to edit so you can copy everything. It is handy, as both a player and a DM to have those links there during the game however. Saves time while playing for looking things up.

Hmm, so have I got this down-pat

e.g.

I stood atop the tall walls, the fierce northern winds blew against me, clutching my spear in one hand to steady myeslf I pulled my cloak close around me, garnering what warmth I could from it. It stamped my feet, both in irritation and to work up some circulation. I should have been in some warm tavern, with a mug of ale in my hand and a pretty lass on my knee. Instead I was here, assign to guard duty furing the winter nights. I took a quick look out over the snow covered plains, thinking I saw something I make a spot check, what do I seeOh, would I get penalties for being out in the wind, whiping against my eyes?
