...but seriously, at least it's good to see the campaign having Rav as DM. Hopefully not even the weight of all the setbacks can kill interest in the campaign.

Regarding Rav's character, if Sh'rarn is to take a more back-seat approach, what we need isn't really a "leader" but at least a clear sense of direction of where the party should go. That way Sh'rarn can also minimise his dialogue...

(Hill-Shatar, i think if you are giving Sh'rarn a voice-over then effectively you'll be role-playing him isn't it )

I'm at office now...so if there's anything else that crosses my mind, i'll chip in later. Take care all...

I've been buying lots of D&D reference material over the last few days, (Player's Handbook, DM's Guide, Monster Manual and D&D for Dummies [good guide for new players btw]) so hopefully I should be able to continue this relatively soon, unless Kipi has a specific direction in mind that I haven't been made aware of as yet.

As for my own personal style of this, I will expect players to post their characters on the character thread and make the neccesary adjustments themselves, thus sparing me a lot of work and integrating yourselves better with your characters and D&D in general. I'll say in the game thread when people need to add experience/ treasure to their character's details.
Otherwise I'll probably run this in the same manner as Kipi has, allowing players 48 hours to post their actions.

For major events/fights I may decide to provide experience to only those who have posted (e.g. if you miss a fight entirely you won't get the experience reward or treasure - unless, of course, you have a good reason for not posting). This may also apply to major story events where I would expect you to respond, though I'd make sure everyone knows this is expected at the time.

Okay, I think that's about it. I'll double-check all your rolls later on and see what I can do from the dwarfs point of view.

And thanks to everyone for their support.

Awww but that's extra work for us . I'm up for that, but I do hope however you check them over, just to make sure there are no glaring errors.

Love the idea, it sounds great to me.

Make them do a funny dance, that'll lighten the mood . But seriously, let's hope diplomacy is an option.

We should thankyou for taking this unexpected role on .

Yeah, I'll check them over, I don't want anyone taking advantage providing themselves with amped up bonuses and weapons etc.

From my snappy research, it isn't looking likely. Diplomacy seems to usually take at least a minute (whereas a combat round is around 6 seconds). With Yepi's characte having initiated combat my character only has a round and gets a 10 point penalty to the skill.
So, it looks like you're stuck killing the emissaries of a dwarven king.

Glad to do it, it's a good new experience for me.

Darn, you sounded like the Necromancer in Diablo 2...are you sure we can't use Amplify Damage?

I've never played the Diablo games so any similarities were complete coincidence...
Though there are feats that allow you to increase spell damage.

Heh, I can just imagine that. I think the armour would get in the way of ballet a little though.

Well, that depends. A Paladin has a Lawful Good alignment to uphold but in this case I would say my Paladin didn't initiate the attack so there is no harm done.
Although some people may react slightly negatively thanks to this piece of random violence.
I have yet to look into knock-on effects on alignment.

Well, this has been my first DMing and was almost the first playing experience with D&D (though I've played it a bit more by now.

*ahem* Anyway, down to business....
  • I need slade to roll that 1d20+2 for initiative (in addition to everything he already has)
  • Yepi also needs to roll Initiative and also choose an attacking order. Oh, 5x round actions (like everyone else has too)

I've run through the battle rolling all the neccesary dies and calculating the results, but the above will finish it off. I could use the stuff I've already placed in (e.g. the attacks for Yepi's character) but I would prefer it if everyone had atated their actions and rolled the dice as neccesary.

Most defintely. Have us control all facets of the game possible, that way, we'll learn it, master it, and hopefully speed up the game and save you work, seeing as you already have enough.

And I have a suggestion, I know that I used to forget about this until I had it bookmarked, so perhaps when you find a thing that needs fixing, you could pm the member. Not sure if you've already done it, but good work if you have.

Yeah, I'll probably do that. I don't generally PM people that much, but I'll have to get over that.
Haven't seen too much of Yepi lately though, I hope he hasn't lost interest rather than being around and me just not noticing.

Yeah, last time he was away and had forgotten to check, because he never read the game thread.

Though I pmed him about that, so he's probably been checking, hopefully he'll update soon, but it never hurts to pm.

I'm just considering how long to give Yepi now. Maybe tomorrow or the day after I'll post the results of everyone's actions and what I presume to be Yepi's character's actions.

That is probably for the best, and you fill in all rolls.

And if he missed next turn, well, he may have to be removed from the campaign, but hopefully it won't come to that.

Given that DJV posted that earlier today, I think your fine.

If anyone else goes on vacation, you might want to remind Ravager. Otherwise, he gets confused.

Yeah, if someone is leaving for a holiday or something, do tell me, eh?

It's no problem in this case though. I was never intending to remove Yepi's character anyway, just to fill the role temporarily. I'm glad I don't have to do that now.

Slade isn't going to be around until the 3rd probably so I'll take control of his character after the combat as neccesary until he returns.
