| | | Sterwick Campaign: Inter-Character Dialogue (Low Spam) Use this thread to roleplay characters before the campaign begins and during it.
At the beginning you may want to explain how your character ended up going to Sterenear. Maybe meeting other characters on the way. This is purely dialogue (at least for now) as any fights would take place in the campaign. However events in the campaign (when it starts) can be referred to here...
Try to keep spamming to a minimum and the discussion thread can be used for much of the out of character stuff.
And with all that said...let the story & dialogue begin.

| | | Many Meetings It was an inn, where else was one to find a likely adventurer such as Tway, reeking of stale achohol and unwashed patron, it was not an unfamiliar scene. The Lord's Table was infact no such thing, if Twaynith was ever to actually see a lord in a place like this, she would probably drop dead on the spot. No different to any other Inn on the face of Toril Tway found a spot of respite in the rundown facility.
Sitting at the bar, cloak pulled low, Twaynith found a measure of anominity. Chances are she could throw her hod back and none of the patrons would be sober enough to notice she had horns. The barkeep wouldn't care, aslong as she bought drink and paid her lodgings. She took a slow sip of her drink, eyes scanning the assorted patronage of the inn...

| | | Sh'rarn entered the inn The Lord's Table, one of many such inns in the city of Baldur's Gate.
And this one was certainly no different to the rest, many ordinary citizens drinking away their troubles with no heed to their actions while drunk. Normally he would stay away from such a place, but it was close to the city entrance and after the long journey he needed to rest.
Going over to the barkeep he inquired into the prices of rooms, which turned out to be extortionate, however, he was not interesting in purchasing luxuries anyway.
The drinkers seemed uneasy to have a holy warrior near them and so to help put them at ease he bought a meal and drink. There's was no need to get into an unnecessary fight. |

| | | The door swung open, letting in a burst of cold air. Tway looked over and her eyes met a most unlikely of patrons. Flowing golden hair, perfect skin and practically glowing eyes. The yin to her yang. He eyes followed him from beneath the cowl of his cloak he sat down not for from her. Curious as to what one of his kind was doing in a hole like this she left her seat and sidled up to the one next to him. She drew back her hood slightly, though not revealing her horns. "What's an handsome gentleman like yerself doing in a joint like this, eh love?" she inquired, leaning lightly against the bar. Something was nagging her something in her blood didn't like this one, but Tway had learnt to quell the urgings of her blood long ago and wasn't abotut to start letting them rule her now...

| | | Sh'rarn looked at the young lady who had taken a seat next to him. She was...odd somehow, though he didn't believe she was evil. That kind of thing was normally far more obvious and there seemed many evil people in this city. Also folk usually kept themselves to themselves around here, not wishing to get into trouble, especially with anyone who seemed powerful or powerfully connected.
All this piqued his interest and so he answered:
"I was going to rest before meeting with the hierophant of the Red Knight here in Baldur's Gate. Who are you?" |

| | | Alone, short on money, and hated. Kron had just once again killed a man for trying to tell his identity. With little money, he headed to the nearest bar, the cloak pulled over covering his skin. Coming into the bar, he ordered a drink and immediately headed to the darkest corner of the inn, currently empty. Looking around, he saw the normal filth of the human race, drunks, slobs, perverts. They all frequented these establishments. At the bar was what appeared to be one of those annoying do-gooders, frequently trying to 'help' Kron. Talking to him was some woman in a cloak, probably fallen in love with the man already. Pulling his cloak, Kron once again wondered why he was here. |

| | | A Paladin! It had been... almost four years since she had met a Paladin. Helpful elven fellow from Silverymoon, shining mail, fine longsword at his hip. A quick look up and down the man before her easily matched the description; the glowing (literally) disposition helped too. He was handsome, very handsome, if somewhat conventionally so. Twaynith had never had any problem following trends.
Twaynith, on the other hand, was the opposite, with her chilling white skin, red-ebony hair and smoldering eyes. The irony of the situation did not escape the young Tiefling. "Me? Nothing quite as spectacular as you m'lord, merely a humble ranger come in for a taste of civilisation once again." She looked around the rather decrepit room, her nose wrinkling in disgust. Methinks, I prefer the company of the grass and the trees and the sky..."

| | | Several drinks later, Kron realised he was broke. With his thirst lingering, and nothing to quench it, he decided upon one course of action. Free beer from others. His eyes returned once more to that man and woman, who were still talking. Ready to use his astounding persuasiveness, Kron wandered over towards them. "Greetings strangers," Kron said in his most friendly voice, something which had never come naturally, "What brings you to this establishment on such a night as this?" |

| | Quick DM note, Sterwick IS NOT the name of the island, but the name of the NPC going to join your party
The name of the island is Sterenear, forgot to put it in posts

| | @Kipi, I edited the first post so it has the name of the island.
@Venom, nice introduction. Sh'rarn smiled. "I do not think much of this inn either, many of the people here seem just to drink for the sake of it. Though I do not have such an 'interest' in nature as a Ranger would surely have. If you'll excuse my curiosity, I haven't seen someone of the likes of you before..."
She was obviously different to the many patrons of this place and not just in opinion of forthrightness. Her eyes... very strange. He felt something of a kinship to her, though did not understand why.
Just then another stranger wandered over, also covered in a cloak. He was getting a strange emanation from this one though that made him a little suspiscous.... Quote: |

What is your purpose here?". |

| | | Tway found herself subconsciously leaning toward the Paladin. There was something about this guy. Something that seperated him from all the other foolish men. A wry, if somewhat disappointed smile graced the Tieflings lips, she, a woman with demon blood running in her veins, was mooning after a Paladin, someone who would hate her for what she was...
But then again, there was that old saying "opposites attract."
Twaynith looked over to the newcomer, the Paladin seemed to be dealing with him suitablly but... there was something about this one... she cept allert looking for anything suspicious about this new cloaked figure...

| | | "Why am I here indeed?"Kron laughed, with a cold sound to his voice. "I'm here in this inn because I need a drink. As for why I'm here on this island, let's just say the current rumours interested me."
As he stared back at the man, he saw the paladin trying to discover his heritage. It's fun if he doesn't find out, because no doubt he will try to make me drunk, which means drinks for me. And if he does, well I get to 'hide' myself, or just 'remove' him. Glancing across at the woman, he saw a slight smile flicker on her lips, her face wasn't that bad looking for a human. She too was trying to discover who Kron really was. Wondering to himself, why can't people just let me be, if I didn't enjoy killing I would do something to stop this. |

| | @Venom, technically we're in Baldur's Gate and haven't left for Sterenear yet. So I'll use your part as an introduction to the campaign storyline and say you're going to the island rather than currently on it. The stranger was obviously angling for another drink, despite the fact he'd already seemed to have a few. The slight swaying was a dead giveaway.
"I presume you're talking about Sterenear? I have heard only a couple of rumours about it. Why do you want to go there?". The stranger said nothing, sighing Sh'rarn ordered a cheap ale for the stranger. "I was considering going myself soon, I heard that orcs were overruning the island killing many undefended innocents, perhaps I could help turn the tide".
Perhaps now he had revealed some more details of his own journey the mysterious stranger would reciprocate....
As the stranger wandered off to collect his drink, Sh'rarn looked over at the woman who was quietly studying the stranger, "What do you think of him?"

| | | Tway was trying to get a glimpse of the newcomer's face. It was no suprise that there were mysterious cloak-clad patrons of these kind of inns, but for them to try and engage complete strangers in random conversation was entirely a different matter.
The men seemed to be talking about some island... Sterenear, by name. No island Tway had heard of, but she did not consider herself a fount of nautical knowledge. She knew some druids and rangers beckoned to the waves, taking them as their domain, but Tway was not one of them. She loved the feel of rough earth beneath her feet, of clean, crisp forest air and the distant chirping of birds in some not-so-distant tree. She was a bit of a closet romantic when it came to nature. "What do you think of him?"
She turned once again to the Paladin, still not knowing his name. "Me? He is confusing, both hiding from some unknown attacker and searching for sometihng at the same time. Not the best situation for one to be in, and even less so when one is a reckless as him. He is not a northerner, and though I know little of the south his accent does not hail from there. All in all, a confusing man, one would be best not to trust him, methinks." Before she could help herself, Tway was lost in those golden eyes. She blinked, reminding herself that she was a ranger and a warrior, not some heartsick girl...

| | | Sh'rarn nodded. "Astute. Where are my manners? My name is Sh'rarn. A Paladin of the Red Knight. I tend to believe in the best of a person's nature so although I do not trust this becloaked stranger yet, he should be given the chance at the least."
Odd that he had asked the strange lady's opinion of the cloaked man. Definitely not something that he would usually do. But these were strange times... | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
