| | | Kron was making demands again?! He seemed to always be doing that. "As far as I know, you blocked a spell that was aimed at Twaynith. I don't know who cast it though, I didn't see that. The spell knocked you unconcious and I tasked the shrine to look after you. As for the acolyte, I apologise, he should not have treated you that way, despite the common distrust of any drow. You left the shrine before I arrived to talk to you and returned here".
Perhaps knowing this would placate the drow. Somehow Sh'ran doubted it. |

| | | Interesting, he told Kron about his heriocs, however didn't say the part about Tway hitting him. Perhaps he could somehow force it out of him. "Interesting. But due to my obvious lack of physical health, I would say the spell was either very weak... or it was mine. Now as unsettling as that is, I have insticts which cause me to cast a spell when attacked unexpectedly. It killed my mother, killed many others, and if I had been attacked then, it would explain what happened. I do not think it was someone else, because I would not have reacted in time, nor would I have put myself in front of it. I do know that if I put myself in front of my shots, it doesn't hurt as much.
So I ask you, did you see me attacked, or provoked?" |

| | | Sh'rarn's eyes widened, "You attack instictively? Surely that could cause far worse things to happen". He shook his head, "Anyway, as for the provocation, it was Tway. She hit you. I'm still not exactly sure why. Perhaps you said something that offended her?" |

| | | Kron widened his eyes in false shock, "Tway hit me. What did I do to offend you? And as for my insticts, well I'm born with them. And I admit it has caused trouble, put it has saved my lives countless times. Which is why after I instively cast it, I had to stop it. Me being hit hurts considerably less than if you were hit, so naturally I took the hit, seeing as it appears I brought it on myself. So what oh fiery Tway did I do to incur your wrath?"
This reply would be extremely important to Kron. If Tway still hated him now, something was seriously wrong, but it was time to see what happened. |

| | | Twaynith followed submissively throughout the entire proceedings, most unusual for the fiery young woman. It was clear that her outburst had taxed her, mental and emotionally. She said nothing when they came upon Kron, even when Sh'rarn indirectly adressed her, she remained huddled behind him. She wasn't ready to face the Drow yet, both becasue of what he had said, what she had done to him, and generally his attitude. She fiddled with the hem of her blouse as she waited for the two men to finish their discussion...

| | | Tway was staying silent...odd for her. Perhaps he should do something. He was fed up of their squabbling by now. Addressing Kron he said, "Perhaps if you didn't continually provoke her it would help. The important point is, that it's happened now and nothing can change that!" |

| | | "We can't change what has happened, however it would be in the party's interests if we were to prevent such future outbursts, I don't know how many more spells I will take for either of you. I have been severely weakened by this one, and my jaw is feeling sore, so I would like to know why I deserved such a hit. I am well aware of how you two hate my race, but I don't think I deserve a hit for my race's actions, no matter how atrocious they are."
This was extremely strange thought Kron. He had been expecting the Tiefling to have said something by now, but she had remained silent. Whether it was through remorse, suprise or something else was unknown. Truth be told, Kron was still suprised himself. |

| | | Tway was utterly suprised. She expected atleast some humility, she knew he knew that it must have been something pretty bad that he said for her to hit him like that, yet he pushed her further. All previous thoughts of reconcilliation were banished from here mind when Kron finished speaking. She stepped from behind Sh'rarn, her smoldering eyes now burning full bore. "Why, you ask?" she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper, "Because you are a crass bastard who fails to empathize with anyone's plight but his own. I call you this not as a Drow, but as Kron, no matter the colour of your skin, had anyone insulted as gravely as you have they would recieve equal treatment... that is after all what you want isn't it?" Tway's voice grew from quiet and fairly weak to begin with to strong and venomous at the end... she was done with this Drow... unless Sh'rarn insisted she have anything to do with him, he wasn'worthy of her attent...

| | | Sh'rarn agreed with most of what she said. Kron was pinning his plight on the reputation of his race on the surface, but if they were going to work together, he would have to do something.
Eyeing them both, "Look, I understand neither of you like each other, but if we are to work together we have to get past this." Looking at Tway he said, "We still don't know that much about you, if Kron insulted you, I'm sure it wasn't intentional. And he did stop that spell from hitting you, whatever his motives for doing so."
Then he approached Kron, "You have suggested our actions are rascist, when we have only been talking to you and basing our judgements on your actions. Twaynith shouldn't have hit you, but then you have been baiting her somewhat." |

| | | This time, Kron was genuinely astounded. Did this woman hate him for the sake of it? “I think you have completely misread what I have meant. I know that you hit me for a good reason, because you were a perfectly logical person when we were arguing before. What I meant was that I would like to know how I offended you; otherwise I will most likely unwittingly do it once more. Once again, I have been trying to talk the truth, with genuine intentions and am rebuffed again. Let me ask you this, is it worth me trying to develop a friendship, or should I just not worry about it. I knew that you two would instantly mistrusted, so this time I have tried to tell you my background, so you would understand me. In saying that, I seem to have said something that conflicted with your background, though I wouldn’t have known this because I know nothing about you. I wish to know, not to manipulate you, but because I wish to be more than a thing to be gawked at and hunted. I’m sorry for offending you in someway, though what that way is I do not know. Now I know it is too late and I am fighting a losing battle, so if you won’t believe me now, I will stop.”
Kron knew in his heart that it was too late, that this Tiefling would stay as an enemy. As for the paladin, he would hopefully come around and learn to completely trust him. The one thing that stayed strange was how saving someone could make them even angrier, perhaps he should have let the missile hit her after all…
Turning to Sh'rarn, "We don’t like each other? I have nothing against either of you, neither of you have done anything to me, so as such I don’t not like you, I am still willing to trust you. Also, I am not saying that you are racist. I know that you are not, however if Tway hated me for my actions, then surely she would have said so. But because she remained silent, I thought it must have been natural hate, I am used to that you know. And please, don’t mention the spell incident. I caused the problem, so me taking the hit is only fair, it’s not really something to use as a way to make someone grateful."
This was certainly turning into a strange experience. |

| | | Tway was completely stunned, she hadn't been expecting any apology at all, for that matter such a complete one. She digested his words slowly... perhaps she was wrong, perhaps there was some hope for the Drow. Her eyes regarding Kron curiously, she nodded, and despite her self, said, barely audibly, "Perhaps... there is some hope for you Kron." She didn't know what made her say it, she had disliked him so much to begin with and now she almost... pitied him? Tway was confused, the past twelve hours had eld more twists than Tway like in her days, but she supposde she would have to get used to it, being a Tiefling travelling with a Drow and an Aasimar. However, she was sure of one thing... she would never be bored...

| | | From what he knew of Kron, he hadn't expected an apology nor Tway's acceptance of it. It showed more promise of both of them.
Talking to Kron he said, "You should not make assumptions about people's perceptions of you. That makes you little better than the people who judge you based on your skin colour. However, I'm glad you apologised to Tway, I didn't know you had it in you." |

| | | "Ha, well now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, we should do something rather than talking all day. Now, I was pleding my trust to you, but I'm not sure what your response was. I will however follow you as a comrade in arms. So let's get moving." Kron flipped up off the bed and was on his feet. "Ah, it feels good to be up again, I should be ready to be off."
As they were leaving the room, Kron whispered to Tway, "There is hope for all of us, you should know that Twaynith." And with a cheeky grin he was gone. |

| | | Tway couldn't help but return the grin. Despite it all she was glad the fueding was over between her and Kron. "Aye, so there is...so there is." She moved to follow Kron, though not before slipping her arm through Sh'rar's. Now that the battle with Kron was over, she could continue hunting Sh'rarn, she was a stubborn girl, Tway, and she was determined to get her man, no matter how hard it would be...

| | | Hmm..what to do next? "If we intend to travel to Sterenear, we should get more information about it. It'd be best if we split up, that way we can cover more ground. The hierophant may know more, we never got the chance to properly talk to him about the island. Other than that, there is the harbourmaster, surely many ships pass through Baldur's Gate to many destinations. Perhaps, some of the inns too. Some of the sailors on shore leave may well know something." I should go the temple as the hierophant is more likely to give me more information. What about you two? Where do you want to go?" | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
