She nodded her cloaked head and, unbeknownst to her, revealed one of her horns. "Twaynith, Ranger and follower of Sune Firehair." She once again found herself studying the man more closely than she usually would, that flowing golden hair that perfect tanned skin and those eyes... oh those eyes. Tway could starve to death looking into those eyes and die a happy woman. Again she mentally reprimanded herself. What was going on with her?...

"Sune? An odd deity for a...." He spotted a horn part hidden under her hair. Sh'rarn's eyes narrowed and he gripped his sword hilt but didn't unsheathe it. "Who are you, really? Are you a tiefling?!"

Sh'rarn was in shock. He hadn't expected to see a tiefling around here, even in a major city. Something stopped him from taking more action Sh'rarn shook his head, what was happening to him? Even despite his wish to see the best in people, she was a tiefling! A part demon! She could be spying for any evil entity. Still, she didn't appear to be evil and she wasn't hostile to him.

This ran contrary to his teachings.

Tway silently cursed her luck, the one man she is actually interested in just has to hate her for her heritage. She calmly reached up and rehooked her cloak over teh protruding horn, fixing Sh'rarn with a look that showed no indication of her growing infatuation for him. "Yes, I am a Tiefling, my grandmother gave herself to a demon in exchange for power. That makes me a quarter demon, your a Paladin, you can tell whether I'm evil... I don't fit a mold, so don't try and put me in one" She leaned forward, her face just over an inch away from his. "You going to spit me on the blake o'yours or will you demonstrate some of your renowned tollerance?..."

She certainly knew how to intimidate someone and although she did have demon blood, that was more the fault of her ancestors. There was the possibility she was working for someone evil, but as she had said, he could sense no evilness about her. Just a hint of chaos. Something Tieflings seemed to be renowned for.
Sh'rarn stood up. "You don't appear evil to me, nor are you a pure-blooded demon. I, myself am not fully human, I am an Aasimar, my mother a half-Deva. Our kind has been fighting longer than anyone can remember. But I feel no need to kill Tieflings because of their demonic heritage. So why did you approach me in the first place? For one of your bloodline it seems like a foolish move".

She looked up at him, unsure why he had stood, she remained seated. If it gave him a feeling of superiority then good luck to him, Tway would remain seated. Oh great! An Aasimar, Tway had to walk into a bar and fall head-over-heels for her polar opposite... great!

Her hand unconsciously passed over her horns, feeling the bony protrusions when he talked of her heritage. "Why, love, because you looked like the only decent fellow in the bar, and I didn't figure an incoherent drunk would make excelent company for a night. Perhaps it was fate, I wouldn't wish to presume. But it matters not why I am here, but what you are going to do about it" she knew the answer would set him thinking, that was the idea. Things usually started going better when men thought with their heads, as opposed to their muscles or their crotches...

Sh'rarn started in surprise. He hadn't expected her to take the news of him being Aasimar so well. "Hmm. I'll get us some drinks...". As he wandered over to the barkeeper, who seemed to be chatting away amiably to the drunken stranger who had approached them earlier, he thought about his current predicament.
He hadn't expected to meet anyone of demonic heritage who was so much...the opposite of what he had expected. 'Tieflings were not to be trusted' his teaching had been, but this conflicted him.
Paying for the two drinks, he returned back to the table where the tiefling was sitting. Handing her a drink he said, "I have nothing against your presence here, so long as you stick to the path of Good. Neither of us are truly human and I am more sympathetic to you because of that. This does not mean I will hesitate to oppose you if you commit an act of evil."

She accepted the drink and attempted a smile, to break the frigid atmosphere. "Fear not, Lady Firehair is my matron and no true follower of hers would commit an evil act, atleast, not knowingly. I have spent my whole life running from my heritage." Giving Sh'rarn a very pronounced look she continued, "Though it seems to find me wherever I flee." She gave a noncommital shrug before again continuing her speel. "I feel no guilt for who I am, the sins of my ancestors are not mine, the blood of innocents does not stain my hands. My blood is an unfortunate turn of fate and nothing more." She took a long sip from her drink, studying Sh'rarn's reaction from over the rim...

Sh'rarn could agree with what she said and his respect for her grew. "Most unfortunate indeed. Why are you in Baldur's Gate though? Especially if you prefer natural surroundings so much."
Giving her a quizzacal look he said, "Surely a ranger such as yourself, would avoid the bustle of a city such as this, unless you have some errand to perform..?

She set her drink back down on the table, still gipping it with two hands and staring into its murky depths. It was a question that had plagued Tway aswell. Why was she here? Was it some deep seated need for sentient companionship, or some sinister twist of fate. Was she meant to go to this bar, to meet this Paladin, did she honesly have any true free-will. She honestly didn't know. "I honestly don't know" she whispered, nottaking her eyes from her drink...

He could see her uncertainty. "What are you going to do now?" he asked sympathetically and then sipped his drink. Not that it was a very good drink and generally Paladins avoided such luxuries anyway.
He felt for her situation, but wasn't sure what he could offer to help.
"You could come with me to visit the Red Knight hierophant. Mayhap he will know more about this 'Sterenear'...and how to help you".

Tway looked up from her drink, meeting the Aasimar's eyes, and managed a weak smile. "Yes, perhaps your heirophant will be able to help." Whilst most of the goodly gods had no qualm with other god's followers entering their temples, Tway still felt awkward. Like she was going to a party that she hadn't been invited to. If she went with Sh'rarn then it wouldn't be so bad. "But we would not go at such a late hour, surely most decent folk are asleep by this hour... have you accomodations?" She asked, just a glimmer of hope in her voice...

"Hmm, yes it is rather late to be visiting the Hierophant. I did book a single room here though. Don't worry I'll still be here in the morning and I won't abandon you".

He wandered back to the barkeep, and asked for another room, it was expensive but he felt he owed it to Twaynith.

Returning to Twaynith, who was still nursing her drink, he smiled and said "I booked you an adjoining room to mine." He then offered to assist her to the room.

She smiled up at the Aasimar warmly and acepted his arm. The touch sent tingles all through her. What was going on? She wasn't quite sure if it was a good thing, but Tway liked it. She could easily have taken the run-down stairs on her own, and though it felt somewhat strange being escorted up to a grotty little room of this second rate in, if Sh'rarn was doing it... who cared?...

Sh'rarn escorted the lady up the stair and around the corridor to her room, "I hope you get a good sleep Twaynith and I'll see you in the morning". He kissed the back of her hand and went to the door of his own room, opening it and entering.
It was sparse, but nothing beyond a Paladin had need of. A bed and a little table beside it and a shuttered window.
He then removed his armour and lay under the covers of the hard bed. Tomorrow was to be a busy day and he needed the rest. He soon fell asleep.

Tway nearly fainted when Sh'rarn kissed the back of her hand. She practically fell into the doorway and muttered something she hoped was 'good night.' She wasn't quite sure how she managed to get into bed, but she didn somehow. Sune would be beaming if she was watching Tway flounder like a fish out of water. Eventually the Tiefling fell into a dreamless sleep, her mind filled with thoughts of the Aasimar only a few feet away...
