Well, I've come up with enough of a plot idea and background to wing it until I can flesh out more of it. I still need at least names for each of your character's however, but, here it goes.
You both were wandering through one of the hallways in the Tower of Wayreth. Passing the doors to the Great Library, you are suddenly caught within a flare of light and then feel as though you are spiraling down, down, down, and then you are immersed in darkness and dropped onto something soft that catches you.
Disoriented and confused, you feel a presence reach into your mind, grasping onto it and feel, rather than hear
"I apologize for such a way to bring you into my presence, but this must be kept secret, and as no one was around at the moment...it was the most efficient way to get you here. Please excuse the darkness, my kind don't enjoy the light. I, am Shawdor, Head of the White Robes and next in line to be Master of the Tower.
I have summoned you to me to brief you on a situation which our master has heard rumor's of and ordered me to see to it these rumor's are investigated. I picked you two out because, you may need to do some...unsavory things in order to search out the source of these rumors. My order doesn't quite enjoy these kinds of acts, yet, I believe you may take to them with...gusto, I believe is the word.
These rumor's imply that there is a force of knights quelling opposition in an area 300 leagues from our location. Not only that, but a swamp in that area has been slowly spreading. Rumors of Minotaur's are related to this area as well. The fact one of my order has been missing for 2 weeks, without so much as a message sent back to me has greatly disturbed me. I must assume something unpleasant has occured. If she is in danger, these rumors may have just been substantiated and could be quite serious. I ask you, would you look for her, and bring back whatever information you can on these rumor's? If you can do this, you each will be rewarded by an item of my making. I don't expect you to act upon any threats yet, simply bring back information...for now.
If you choose to do so, you will be set with a contingency spell which will transport you straight back to Tower Council Room upon your wishing it to be done so. If you end up in a fatal situation, or find imporatant information, or you find my apprentice, Argenta, use this contingency. You can be sent back if the Council finds it worthwhile to do so. Will you assist our Order's in this missive?"
You feel the presence staring at you in the inky darkness, waiting for an answer.

For the worth of the laugh, the closest thing to a tavern here is a magic shop that sells potions two floors down from this one."
You feel that strange sensation in your mind again, like someone's grabbed ahold of it.
If you two are going to fool around, I can teleport you on your way now to investigate the area. There's sure to be a tavern or two around there. You just say when your ready to go.
The sensation fades away as you see the last bit of the wizardress' robe dissapearing around a distant corner.

| | | The ground trembles below your feet, then stops, and suddenly, mortar flies from the walls and ceiling into your face and the hallway shakes enough to unhinge your knees. Out of the dust cloud and the outer wall step 3 dark figures. One, in a twisted, blackened suit of ancient plate mail with burning red eyes on a fiery horse. The other two are skeletal warriors, clad in rusted and torn chain mail and riding upon nightmarish horses. Black, with glowing red eyes, these horses hooves are covered in the dust that is floating through the air. It seems those hooves would be what destroyed the High Tower's outer wall's.
Turning as one, they stare in your direction, oozing an aura of creeping cold and the stench of death. The one clad in blackened mail speaks, it's sound like the grinding of bones.
"Sooo, they mages are letting draconian's into the tower now? My little companion will be most eager to meet that one. Bring them. I'm off to find the black devil who engineered my fall from grace this night!"
The two skeleton warrior's step dismount and step forward as one, croaking...
"You heard my master. Come with us, or we'll enjoy some fun of our this night."
They grin now, red mist curling about the remains of their skulls as their jaws part in a faulty attempt at a smile.
You hear alarms ringing throughout the tower and a voice, who you somehow know as the Master of the Tower
"Tram o' the Dark has brought an army to claim vengeance! Flee the tower or be destroyed as I cast down the tower before it is claimed by a renegade!"
