Contraversy....

Come on guys, lets not think about leaving or anything...everybody has been doing a great job, dont let this momentary lapse make anyone go running away. Things will work out, I guarentee you. So Aegis, Rudar, please dont go. If either of you go, youll be really hurting everyone else in the story and will weaken our standpoint.

As a favor to me, and everybody involved, please dont leave. We can build on this if we are strong, and I know we all are.

My POV-well I thought Aegis talked to Rudar about all this before hand, which would have been the correct thing. We previously agreed that we would not mess with eachothers characters. BUT that doesnt mean we should be getting into a dispute. If we just agree that we dont go too deep into other's characters movements, and learn from this, people can be happy and the story could move on and be better then before

I am still learning on how to write, and Im enjoying it with every step. And if people start leaving like that, I will feel completely lost and discouraged. So please, dont leave, either of you. It has been a pleasure working with EVERYONE involved and would hate to see anyone go.

I was about to write something nice to Aegis. Something that could work this whole thing out, but after reading his last post on this thread I think I'd better not comment on that right now. I could say things I'd might regret later on....

Its the better man who puts the weapons down and embraces the opposition. To forgive and move on speaks levels of the person. To turn the cheek and learn the follies of yourself and others makes everyone smarter in the end.

What Im trying to say is, bury the hatchet and things will improve. Ive met Magus because of the story, and Ive known everyone else here before the story. And I consider you all stand up people and friends. Lets not let something minor like this destroy this. And no matter the outcome, you will still be my friends, but as a friend, I urge everyone to move on. Learn and accept.

Are we going to let something as minor as this really act like acid and disintigrate companionship? Look at the situation, and please note how easily we can overcome this.

Peace.

Walter

It thought about the situation almost the entire time while working this morning and I decided to write this (it is a nice addition to the previous post of Tyb):

Let's not take this thing to a personal level ("it's blatently obvious of your experiance with these types of stories" and "lack of posting"...these things can be said in 'better' and nicer words). We are all here to have fun. And let's all remember that what seems a minor issue to you, can be a big one for another. People are different and think different (thank God they do). Respect that.

Now for my role in this:
I regret my post about "it's my character, don't touch it". I was a bit pissed off because it didn't seem like Aegis understood what my point was. So I exaggerated it...well...you could say...too much. Sorry for that. Off course I understand that sometimes you need to take over another character. The story would evolve very slowly if you couldn't. But my point was, that when you do it in a way Aegis did with Gurdio (about 50% of his post he was Gurdio and not his own characters) you should PM that person. Just a simple PM like: "I would like to cast a spell with your character, is that OK?" or "I want to do something crazy/funny/exciting with you character. Is that OK, or did you have an important move prepared?". This prevents that people have to throw away posts they have worked pretty hard on.

And for that 'not posting for a while'-part, which was also a reason Aegis took over my character....I really think that is up to the DM to decide. If the reason for taking over a character is due to MIA of the player, the DM is the one that should take it over or the one that permits another to use the character.
But I should have posted at least something in the discussion thread the last week.....Aegis is right about that

I hope this settles the matter. I know it does for me. No hard feelings. Just continue the story. Hell, this thing multiplied the length of this thread by 2 or 3 already.....

VotH rules!!!!

Peace
Rudar

Considering what everyone has said, and that I've spoken with everyone (minus Fas), I will stay. Magus managed to talk some sense into me. I realize that you're still new to this thing, and that perhaps I took one step too far, considering that. It seems that you have an understanding of what I said, so thats good, and Tybs was able to explain your side a little bit more in depth.

Well it's good that this turned out alright. Now that we seem to have put our differences aside, we should decide how to correct the matter. To me, the easiest way to solve this would be for Gurdio simply to have faked unconsciousness, if that's alright with Rudar. Deceptions don't always have to be magical in nature.

Wahey! Im glad its settled and we can go back to the way it was.

Every group seems to go through its conflicts at one time or another and the strong groups make the best of it and overcome it. Im happy it could be resolved in a civil and fair manner. Well done.

Now....back to the other, more fun chaos going on....the story.

I decided with Rob-hin yesterday that we wouldn't change anything about the story. I'll just be knock-out for the rest of the battle, which, Rob-hin assured, wouldn't take long....

Yep, I wrote the ending just now.
Before I'll post it, I'll wait for a responce since I'll use someone's character...

@Azmodan
Sorry for the delay. I was kind of busy.
I'll pm you that short recap later.
We can introduce your character togeter or you can introduce it yourself if you like. I'll work with it.

Glad to have you on board.

@Azmodan

Here's the recap of 10 pages...
I tried keeping it short.

It contains the intro's of the characters and Serena folowed by the intro of the fight and the loss of CM's character.

You'll need winzip to open it since GB doesn't allow .txt uploads.

Basically what he said was that according to 3rd ed. rules, you'd be about level 5 or so, so you'd have to racial enemies.

In addition, stats aren't overly important, nor are proficiencies when writing in these things, as no dice are actually used. The stuff to note for a character is a brief description, and inventory, and maybe even a history, if you'd want. Everything else is just extra fluff, and will probably not make it in (unless it's something class specific, like a ranger's racial enemy). Hope that helps.

@ Azzy: I looked at your character a few days ago and thought that your stats were pretty high. But as Aegis stated above...stats don't really matter in this thing. Although you might need them sometimes (like: would it be credible that my sorcerer with strength 9 could force that door?)

Welcome on board BTW!!!!

@ Azzy

I'll try to post an intro for your character tomorrow, next to that I hope I can write something for my character aswell...

Your stats are a bit high indeed.
And a +2 bow is a bit much too for a lvl5 character.
