| | | Battle all around: low groans, the earth shaking. A huge hammer descending; he jumps out of the way. He slices out, the verbeeg falls to the ground. An axe from the left; he rolls aside. He hears his companions around him; the fight is desperate. Somebody rushes up to him, a wizard.
“Gil, let’s go! The way’s clear!”
He glances at himself. He is covered in blood, bright crimson intermingling freely with dull black wherever he looks. How much of it is his own, he can’t say.
“COME ON!” the man in front of him yells, tugging him forward by his free arm. He looks up, and steps back involuntarily. The man has no face. Revolted, he slashes out, gutting the aberration. The thing’s last words fill his ears. “I thought…we were…friends.” Suddenly he is thrown forward. The world is spinning. When it stops, he sees his back lying on the ground in front of him. It has no head. Everything is turning red, so red…
Gilthanas awoke with a start. He drew his katana and glanced around rapidly. Nothing. He gasped for breath. He realized he was covered in sweat. He looked around, calming himself. Everything was as it should be. He had stopped to rest at the edge of the forest, though the setup could hardly be called a camp. He had no fire; light attracted attention, and he could see well enough in the faint starlight. Likewise, he had no bedroll; he traveled light. It was a cold night by any standards; it had been a long winter, though it finally seemed to be relenting. Yet, for some reason, the cold didn’t bother him. Drawing his cloak about him was more than sufficient for his needs, even while sleeping.
He sheathed his weapon and sat back down against the tree, but sleep wouldn’t come. He left, drawing his new bow, becoming one with the night as he slipped deeper into the forest, silent and unseen.

| | | Yllidan smiled at Ambron's cosy house. This was something he would have liked to get once he settles down. Yllidan gingerly flexed his shoulder and was amazed that the pain was gone.
Looking around him, he saw two heavilly upholstered chairs, one for Ambron and one for his guests, right up against the wall, facing a hearth. Looking around to make sure no one was watching, Yllidan foolishly jumped once, twice, hoisted himself up against the seat of the chair and pulled himself up.
His feet dangled.
With a sigh, he began his nightly meditations, about magic, about anything.
Magic...? There was a magical presence here, not him.
He could feel it.
Outer-planar, yes.
And something else, more sinister.
Dark.
Dank.
Deadly.
Jumping from the chair, he began scrying. Beginning in the actual house, there was nothing, save him. Extending his range beyond to the outside, he felt something.
Opening the door (which was almost too high for him) Yllidan ran out, to a surprised Ambron.
"Something's are here..."

At first it was as if Ambron didn't hear the question, he kept on looking upwards to the sky.
After a couple of seconds he dropped his gaze down from the sky and looked at the man in front of him, he had seen him before; in the Green Griffon.
Just as he wanted to answer, Yllidan came rushing outside. "Something's are here..."
Faster then he had realised Ambron stood up from his bench unsure what to expect; surely Yllidan wouldn't get excided over nothing so it must be serious.
"What is it? Is it ... him? No... that wouldn't make sense."

| | | Rojin glanced around, trying to to make himself a target, not moving his head. The halfling seemed not to have such thoughts, but still the little fellow wasn't shouting, like someone he saw back in amn do. That one didn't last.

| | | Malsar was able to crawl away without being noticed so he was able to stand up and began to walk away; slowly, as he woiuld be less likely noticed. he looked back and saw the group alert and ready. by Kossuth, he prayed, i hope they dont see me. He had detected that the half-lf, called Gilthanas, had went out of the town. he'd find more about this mysterious mortal and his sword the direct way. and hopefully he wouldnt be in his phylactery before the search began.

| | | Yllidan looked around him and saw a shadow creeping away. Coming to the conclusion that it was just the night's stress and his sleepiness, he turned away from the shadow and looked at the new comer, asking for a place to stay.
Yllidan blinked twice and looked at Ambron.
"Nothing...I sensed something, but for later."
Ambron nodded and turned toward the new comer, he had seen him before on the way to the Griffin.

| | | back at his hut, Malsar gathered his items. His phylactery, some scrolls of identify, a wand of detecting secret doors, four books on each of the elemental planes(his most prized posessions), and his familiars head. Malsar reflected on this humorous story. During his imprisonment on the plane of water, his familiar's(a rather large bat, especcially his head)body was detachted from his head. he was still alive, but barely, and had to be put in a sealed jar of preservative fluid. you're thinking on my disability again
"Know why do you think that." We are linked. This is our connection.
"you're also just a head" never mind. let us just go. I am just as intrigued about this katana as you are.
"you know, Infernus, sometimes i think i would be better off had i just left your head and kept your body."
placing his possessions in a long burlap sack, Malsar and Infernus left the tiny hut. he looked back one more time at the dwarf's house to make sure he was not being followed, and mad his way to the half elf and his katana
