Not only that, but racial modifiers are slight modifications, often with negatives to offset them. In the case of the Vulcans, they are stronger, and tougher. They are not necessarily smarter, or wiser than a human. You're mistaking the logical aspect of the race for intelligence. If anything, that might accord for a slight boost to wisdom, but not both INT and WIS.
Also, in the sake of balancing, having numerous +2 and above modifiers is horribly unbalanced, whether in use or not, especially when there is real negative ability to offset it (in this case, -4 CHA for vulcans is hardly enough for balancing sake.) Especially without the inclusion of level adjustments.
I really could continue, but the more I say, the more I troll, so I feel as though I've explained my position well enough. | Oh, I didn't know there was already a d20 thing in place for Star Trek.
I can change the modifiers if you want me to, but we don't really use the stats. We just know that, for instance, Viq'Tarr (an obvious spin on Viktor, which I think is a very cool name ) is HUGE, and really strong, but also pretty clever, whereas Vedek Kina is small and fragile (like the good friend I modeled her after ), but she is really smart and wise,
Still, I think that for gaming purposes there is balance, but in real Star Trek world, Vulcans get pretty much all bonuses, then a penalty to CHA, seeing as how logic pertains to WIS, but long life allows them to accumulate more knowledge, hence INT, and they are stronger, STR, and tougher, and more in control of their bodies, for regeneration, so CON, and I don't know about DEX, but I am sure Vulcans have more of it than humans somehow,
As for Klingons, they are even stronger (according to 7x04 of DS9: "Take me out to the Holosuite"), but they are aggressive, WIS -, and less desire to learn (and more to fight), hence lower INT.
Anyway, CM suggested you might want to join.
Well do you,
Punn'Q?

| | | Can't say that I am in on this one. I have little time as is, and I've already told another person I would throw some of that time their way, if I could spare it.
Maybe next time. |

Maybe next time. | Allright. If you would like to join at a later time, the thread's open.

| | | I might be able to persuade two of my friends to join (one of who is the basis for Vedek Kina Jocel). Anyone else in, though? Also, CM, what are the genders of your people (I assume all male, by the names, but please specify), and would you like a ship to go with that?

| | In case I neglected to mention, you can also be half-races, in which case you split in two and round down any bonuses you might get, like a Human/Klingon character will get +1/0/+1/0/-1/0(format: S/D/C/I/W/Ch), so STR and CON can still be better than Human, but pureblood klingon is sstronger, but on the up-side, the penalty to INT disappears, and that to WIS is reduced to -1.
Anyway, I am going to begin the story, with the origin of the trio of my guys. I will post it under "Rogue Brigade", and we can make a second thread to do the story in, or we can just continue in the same thread, with each person doing introductions, if you wish.

| | Actually, let this new one be my story, and we can make a new one for the collective story. On the upside, I get my own story, and it has a forseeable end. It ends where our story begins.

| | | I think this is a bit too far out of my league...
Sci-fi is totally different from fantasy. But I would like to start writing again.

| | Actually, revision: the year is 2382, the current year (2005). This way, we can make up our own wtuff without tampering with the timeline, lest those guys from DS9 (5x06: Trials and Tribble-ations) come pay us a visit.
