Long isn't bad, so long as we don't end up with 4-5 posts in a row from someone I can't complain. One post is only 10000 characters, not a whole lot at all.

Most of the guys who end up writing with us... seem to have an interesting fetish for handcuffs, whips and other devices of torture... 
More seriously, I think intro posts, especially if they are re-introducing characters from the previous books are likely to be long, just by the nature of the beast
Besides...if anybody else writes long introductions it makes me feel better
