| | | May I ask if it is still ongoing? Well, it hasn’t been updated for about four months now and I was wondering if someone would have any plans to post something new. And if there are, is it still alright to join? Page 100, 14 posts remaining.

| | | I'm not sure this thing will ever get going again. A lot of the people who posted in it aren't really around anymore for one reason or another. It's been a while sionce anythings been posted as you said. I guess there's always a possibility of things starting up again, but from just my general observations of absent members and things like that, I'd say the chance is a little on the slim side.

| | | Indeed, aside from BS, DW, Z, maybe Sytze and myself everyone else has pretty much vanished. Sad as it is I think this is kind of the end of the DF books as most of our writers have moved on.

| | | I know, it's depressing... there've been times where this was restarted after not being posted in for several months, and I'm hoping such will happen again, but seeing as maybe only six or seven people are still around from the many who used to post in it...

| | | If they're absent, I suppose we could always try and take some of the characters who are needed for plot movement and use them on our own (or let other people try and write with them), but I'm not sure if that would be an ethical thing to do.

| | Z, when was the last time you saw any member of the DF being ethical?
But aside from that, I can't truly say I would be able to devote my energy to this project at this time, given I have three other ongoing projects that I've either neglected or am working in conjunction with another member on. Perhaps in the future something may happen, but hey: if some one wants to write for a while, I personally wouldn't mind if they mentioned or manipulated Amara for the sake of their own piece.

| | | There is a lot going on in my life at present, and like AC, I'm already tied up in another project. I simply don't have the energy right now to return to this one.
What I would suggest though, if you guys are wanting to do something, would be to consider starting a "next chapter" of sorts that occurs in the amorphous future from the present story point. You might also be able to recuit new writers, there are quite a few new members posting in SYM who seem interested in roleplaying and look as though they could be into writing as well.

| | I guess I could squeeze some time to start another topic in amorphous future.
Perhaps I could name it as; “Scattered Embers; The Breakfast Is at Ten O’clock”. But then again, I don’t think that many share my boredom towards the typical fantasy tittles of impending doom – The Rise of the Evil Tower with a Wall-eyed Eye on the Top, Mice Wizards from HELL, etc.
Hmm... a bit more seriously, I guess “Scattered Embers: Volume II” would be the somewhat best possible title to follow an unfinished story, and perhaps it could be possible to change it later into something more fitting for the story.
Yet, it can’t really take place fifty years after the first volume, or it might not be credible to see certain characters nearing their eighties slaying orcs with vapour and virility of their younger days.
If it were to happen just few weeks or months after where the current story had ended, it might be easier for the people from the older topic to jump right back in. Simply explaining; I was locked up in a keep – I was protecting a small Town to the north – bards could even sing songs explaining what has been happening – etc – actually the whole situation might not be even fully resolved yet, and on top of everything it might also give new people a chance to join in a more credible way.
Oh, Z, I’d have few questions about your elf and orc characters. Well mainly about your elf. Is he really from a steam punk version of Abeir-Toril? Or is your character just some kind of planar traveller from a Abeir-Toril look alike world, playing a jest on two silly primes? About gods, well in Forgotten Realms demons and like can be considered as such, as long as you have the power.
So has Erudish also had his share of planar travelling? |

| | | You could always propose to start something completely different from SE:FR and see who's willing to join you on your endeavour. Personally, I like my current character and don't mind continuing it, but not when I'm the only one.

So has Erudish also had his share of planar travelling? | To be honest, I don't know enough about planar traveling in the Forgotten Realms to really expand on that a lot (the article was an good read though), but I'd intended Konig to be from a steam punk look-alike world. As far as Erudish goes, I haven't/hadn't decided whether he'd done any planar traveling.
A lot of it was just ideas I had and seeing how they'd run, especially with interacting with everyone else's characters. I didn't have much planning aside from the personality and basic background of my two characters. Basically, it was winging it.
Fleshing them out would probably require a separate story and I haven't been inclined to create one; I probably won't be until my exams are done in a couple months.

| | I'd probably start a new story from scratch if it were me. If none of the members are posting or in most cases not even here anymore, then there wouldn;t be much cary over from this story anyway. It would be mostly a new thing simply due to the lack of characters crossing over.
I'm seriously in doubt that more than a couple people from the current thread would move to a new one. Like I said, people are either gone, or tied up with other things.
A new, original story might be fresher and inspire more people to join in also. Just my opinion of course.

Well I have few ideas, thus I probably would have to read through the DF books to see if some of the things have been already been done. I guess the story could take place in Faerűn, and from what I’ve gathered from these forums, the seashores of Sword Coast and the Sea of Swords would be known by majority. There would be at least some common ground to agree with.
So in amorphous future, I’ll start a topic.

(FYI- I really liked that character and story, and I absolutely regret not being able to do more for it)
