| | | Scattered Embers Character Thread: Absolutely NO spam Because there has been a little bit of confusion as the Scattered Embers group of writers has grown, in this thread everyone should post a short biography of their character(s). Please post any and all characters you are writing about. Even minor characters can have a small post, just to keep names straight. Also, I think this will work best if everyone only posts once per person (not per character). Edits can be made as characters gain more depth. So, without further adieu...
************************************************** **** Setanta Male of undisclosed race (at least partially human) Diety: Setanta is not terribly religious, but his patron diety is Sune. He occasionally prays to her, and even sometimes tries to encourage beauty in her name. Appearance: Setanta looks like a very strong, muscled human. The only exception is that he does not grow hair anywhere on his body. He has skin of average to fair complexion, and even after years of travel still occasionally gets sunburned. He has blue eyes. His demeanor is confident, but sometimes suspicious of new situations and people. He is, surprisingly, good looking for a life-long fighter, perhaps because of his association with Sune. He doesn't really understand his own charisma, but he knows it occasionally gets him out of trouble (and sometimes into trouble too). Personality: Setanta is a survivor, first and foremost. He relies on his body, his training and his wits (in that order) to keep him alive. His possessions are a distant fourth on the list, and he pays them little mind.
Second to being a survivor, he is a fighter. He has been fighting for as long as he can remember and is exceptionally good at it. At this point fighting has become second nature to him, and he tends to think of it as natural. He understands combat very well, on both small and large scales. He can read terrain, fortify a position, teach swordplay or unarmed combat. However, he doesn't really understand anything other than combat, and sometimes is surprised by seemingly everyday things.
Setanta is generally a fine individual but he has a mean streak. He is a minimalist in his approach to life, and he has a weak spot for underdogs. He often takes the "it's best to do it myself and get it done" approach. He would like to be a farmer but has had no success in previous attempts at farming (he's really good at killing things, even his own plants). He likes fishing. He has a very limited understanding of how magic actually works, but was "taught" by his master the many ways magic can hurt. Not surprisingly, he prefers to sneak up on magic users before they can be protected. Background: Setanta was born a slave to a Zhentarium wizard of middle rank in Zhentil Keep. His mother, an enslaved human priestess of Sune, was bred with his father at the behest of his master. Setanta has been trained for combat since he was a boy, and as a teenager he became a pit fighter of no small renown. He was undefeated in death matches, and eventually he ended up fighting monsters instead of other humanoids. After the fall of Zhentil Keep he traveled to live and train with monks north of the Sea of Fallen Stars. He left after a few years of training because he could not reconcile his differences with the monk's lawful approach to life. Combat: Setanta likes to be in melee range. He is proficient with almost any weapon and will pick up a missile weapon in the heat of battle, but generally he doesn't carry one. As a pit fighter he was a bare handed specialist. This, coupled with his fighter experience and his monk training, makes him a formidable opponent, especially deadly in close quarters. Equipment of Note: Setanta always carries a backpack that is essentially a Heward's Handy Haversack. He doesn't let anyone know what is in the sack, although there could be anything in there. Some of the items that he has been known to use include:
Weapons: Because he frequently drops weapons in combat to go unarmend, Setanta tears through armament. He does, however, make it a point to hold on to a matched set of daggers that he wears on his back. He is also partial to short swords and spears.
Boots: Setanta usually carries two sets of boots, one in the pack on one on his feet. When traveling he wears a set of Boots of Striding and Springing and when he's involved in more clandestine matters he wears a set of Boots of Elvenkind.
Bracers: The only piece of equipment he is really attached to is a powerful set of bracers he uses only on special occasions. It is a matched set of bracers that have an interlocking spot for a complimentary set of bracelets. The bracers act as Bracers of Blinding Strike while the bracelets allow Setanta to hit opponents barehanded as if he were a high level monk. When combined the bracers grant all their individual powers, and maybe even more he doesn't know about...
Other stuff too... ho hum... more info later

| | | Pharis Male Human Diety: Need to know and right now no one needs to know. Appearance: Pharis is a looker, when he wants to be. His current appearance these days is rather crude and he's having some troubles adjusting to a human form after spending a year and then some as a wolf. He stands about 5'10" and is lean with an average build. Presently, he's got long ratty hair and full facial growth taboot. He face carries no scars, and Tashara stands as witness the rest of his body is scar free. Personality: Pharis carries a lot of charisma with him, bolstered by his self confidence and his successes of the past. In recent years, he's grown a bit eccentric due to a lot of time spent alone and on the run. He's rather emotive, most of the time casting a grin, smile, or some other facial expression. He speaks with physical gestures as much as words, usually a colorful combination of the two and is big on making a production out of all he has to say. He's vain, narcissistic, and believes he can charm his way out of any situation, which has worked for the most part throughout his life. When and if he gets to windhaven, he'll become rather obsessed about his appearance.
For the most part he has a jovial demeanor, though there is a lifetime of melancholy in his deep brown eyes. His long hair is a sandy blonde with a touch of grey, his beard and moustache are brown. It's pretty safe to say things will not be 'dull' with him around. Background: He's a wolf living in the woods of Tethyr. He's also murmured something about Calimport in a post or two. Given some of his equipment and his penchant for stealth and illusion, it's safe to say he has some experience in the arts of thievery and wizardry, maybe both. Combat: He'd prefer to avoid it, or at the very least, would rather have his opponent have no idea he was coming. Equipment of Note: Drital, the leather armor. Belbau d'dro, his sentient kukri. Ring of spider form, ring of invisibility, cloak of invisibility, monocle of magnification, boots of silence, bandanna of studliness, loins of irresistability, more to follow.

| | | Erudish Half-Orc Male, Subrace Black Orc Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Evil --> it varies on the situation Diety: Da'Nogra...will touch on this later...he is not a shaman though Appearance: Erudish is a massive half-orc, standing at about 6"4 and 250 lbs of pure muscle but don't let that fool you, he has excellent quickness for his size (so DEX: 13-15, in that range). His skin has a greenish tint, but his facial features take after his human side more (has a snout-like nose, has a smoother face than a regular orc). His hair is greyish-black, long, and flowing, unlike a normal orc.He cannot speak Orcish, but can speak fluent Common. He has a very guttural and angry voice. Personality: Erudish is an extremely tormented individual as past experiences have shaped the way he feels about the world. As a subject of extreme racism, he has grown to hate all those who would persecute orcs and generally, he seeks to destroy those that do. His mother is a touchy topic; despite her being human, he loved her with all his heart and when she was murdered, the human side of him went into hiding. Anyone who's ever insulted her has usually been killed in a brutal fashion.
At times though, his human instincts surface and come close to influencing his decisions, but he's managed to override them time and time again. He does appreciate the greater understanding of military tactics that his ancestry provides him; however, he accepts Orc culture as his own, not 'civilization'. One facet of the culture he has never taken in is rape, because it is the thing that resulted in his mother's death. Erudish feels that he is simply enacting righteous vengeance and most of the time he appears as an angry half-orc, focussed on bringing the civilized world to the brink of destruction. Whether this is who he really is remains to be seen though. Background: He's from the Athkatla Slums. Most of his travels have been in Amn, especially in the 'orc-heavy' areas. Other then that, he's not exceptionally well-travelled. Not that he cares. As long as there are humans to kill, he's 'happy'. Well, happy as much as an evil, cruel, warboss can be. Combat: He revels in it. Even when outside of combat, he is usually found doing something violent to another creature, or thinking of ways to hurt and maim foes. He primarily uses melee weapons of any type and occasionally will pick up a shield if necessary. While proficient in melee combat, generally it's either a torture method or a last resort if he's using his fists. Again, while he can somewhat use ranged weapons, he's nowhere near as effective with them as he is with a sword or axe. Equipment of Note: Armor with the strange engravings on it (he doesn't know what they are). A rune-encrusted two-handed great axe that he shares a telepathic link with. Weaknesses: Does not know much of the world outside of violence and war, which is what his life has become and revolves around. At times, when his human side comes to the surface, he tries to quell it on the inside, which leaves him vulnerable. He's definitely not fun to talk to unless you're an orc or you have orcish blood. He's not exactly the best looking character either.
********************** Amelie Half-Elf Female True Neutral--->Probably will change later Appearance: Amelie is a slender and delicate child with flowing black hair and amber eyes that are hard to miss. She's about a dwarven male's height (but she weighs less of course). She's about ten years old, although she doesn't act like one that young. Personality: On the outside she tries to appear carefree but in truth she is very hard on herself, blaming herself when people around her get hurt (partially because the druids criticized her quite a bit). She can grow quite attached to certain people (Erudish) and despite her age, is fairly clever, intelligent, and powerful. Her spellsongs have yet to be honed and this distresses her somewhat. She tries to be as helpful as she can. Background: Born and raised in the Druid's Grove, but has (for a child) quite a bit of knowledge with magic. Combat: She doesn't like combat, but will use her spellsongs to defend her friends if absolutely necessary. Equipment of Note: None Weaknesses: Physically is weak (she's a child). Can be irrational like most pre-teens. Her emotions can sometimes push her to bad decisions. Has a soft spot for Erudish.

| | T’lainya Ruaghniim
Female
˝ elf
Deity- Corellon Larethian
Appearance- She’s tall with long red hair. Her eyes are green, with dark blue star-shaped pupils that seem to give off a silvery light. She has a thin silver mark circling her neck, with a silvery crescent moon shape at the throat. This is from the battle with the shadow master and abomination. Due to the massive amount of magical energy swirling around, the holy symbol merged into her skin. She’s a bit stronger than an average elf and as dexterous as one.
Personality-She is usually calm, curious and eager to learn all she can about other races and cultures. She will try to be accepting of others, but isn’t naďve or foolish. She has an intense dislike of undead. She dislikes drow, but saves her true hatred for Lolth, whom she sees not only as a traitor to the Seldarine (the elvish pantheon), to Corellon Larethian personally and to the entire elvish race. She blames Lolth for leading the drow into darkness and evil. She is generally tactful but can have a very acerbic wit. She loves music. She likes the elven city of Evereska, but also enjoys traveling and has explored a great deal of Faerun.
Background/skills-T’lainya’s father is Lyander Ruaghniim, a bladesinger (ft/mu) a grey (sun) elf who resides in Evereska. He is quite skilled and serves on the high council there. Her mother was a human druidess named Felezaira (now deceased). Rumors abounded that her mother had fey blood; this is likely to be true as both mother and daughter are/were capable of some odd powers. T’lainya is a skilled herbalist and alchemist, capable of using natural resources for healing. She is a feywarden, a specialty priest of Corellon, capable of high level divine spells. She can also cast arcane spells, some due to the specialty class and others due to her studies. She is quite a decent fighter when forced into combat. She has at least a passing familiarity with all major elven leaders. She also has another prestige level class that will be explained later.
Combat-She is proficient with long sword, long bow, mace, flail and sling. She will generally prefer to turn undead rather than engage them in combat. She will try to show mercy if the situation warrants. She is aware of surroundings at all times and will limit area destruction spells if they could be dangerous i.e. firestorm spells in a wooded area. She prefers spell use, but is not hesitant to melee with weapons. Her average strength is compensated by her armor and weapons, all elvish make which are extremely lightweight.
Equipment-Moonblade-Starfire-although not sentient, the blade makes its feelings known. It is very light, very fast and can cause fire damage, as well as having other powers (undisclosed for now). Her mace is called “Light of the Soldering” and is potent against undead opponents. It causes a small amount of electric damage, magic damage and can hold greater undead or completely destroy lesser undead. It’s believed it also protects her from level drain. She has elven chain that seems to have a blue sheen, and is obviously enchanted, although the exact properties aren‘t readily apparent. The holy symbol burned in her throat sometimes warns of danger- although not all the time and it’s not infallible. She tends to carry assorted healing items and some random potions. She has a medium shield, lightly enchanted-no special powers and a dark red ioun stone in place of a helm. It seems to reinforce her resistance to charm, domination and the like. She also has a tiny chest (Leomund’s chest for all you pnp players) that can hold anything she doesn’t feel like carrying. (It’s like a bag of holding)
NPC’s
Xivaril-medium height male moon elf. Silver hair, blue eyes. He has a few bard levels and 2 or 3 cleric levels. He’s young, inexperienced and eager to learn if slightly low in self esteem. He’s never journeyed far out of Evereska and is anxious to start his assignment as an aid to a more experienced cleric in Cormyr.
Endelia Silverbranch- female sun elf, black hair, gold eyes. She’s a feywarden, and once served as T’lainya’s teacher, now her friend. She’s a cl/mu and an experienced adventurer. She has an enchanted sword but prefers to fight with magic.
The three traders will be expanded on in my next story post.
Any questions just pm me

Flattering as that assumption may be, sadly, no, BS is mortal. Doesn't have much use for the Gods, save for Ilmater who he had a close encounter of the near death kind at one point and now occasionally takes on work from the temple when he has the inclination. Also the recently ascended new Lord of Murder still owes him ten gold from a poker game year ago. Doesn't expect the money back anytime soon, as even while human, Lord of Murder a freeloading git. Class
Wizard slayer with a few ranger type skills picked up over time. Appearance
Little over six feet, well muscled but not overly brawny looking. Blue eyes, long black hair, deeply tanned and weather beaten face. The occasional scar on his body due to battle and his inability to bear healing magic for years. Back covered with whip scars from years of captivity. Personality
At first, BS appears to be a bit withdrawn, not standoffish, just not the type to engage in most social activities with people he doesn't know. Does not give his trust easily, and du to this he can be mistaken at times for a cold, distant person by people he's not close to.
After getting to know him, BS is much more open and friendly. Has a cutting sense of humor, and enjoys verbal sparring sessions. Very loyal once his friendship is earned, and will go out of his way or put himself in danger to help a friend.
Overall, BS is much more at home in the wilds than in the city. While he enjoys the occasional stays in a town, after a few days he begins to get restless and longs to be on the move again. As a result, he travels a lot, which is fine with him, as he's a drifter at heart.
Has a cold, merciless streak in him which appears when faced with adversity. As a result, some of his companions of the higher moral type may find some of his methods in interrogation, combat, etc.. a bit unsettling. Dogged determination to finish a job once he starts it, and will readily employ any mothod at his disposal to do so save for killing or injuring those he sees as innocents. Background
Born in Icewind Dale the son of slaves who were captured from a barbarian village, BS was taken as a child into what he only knew as the Chamber, a massive citadel governed by wizards who used the children for manual labor until they reach an age where they could survive the magical experiments that the wizards dealt, the purpose of which was to fuse the life force of the living with undead soldiers to make them more formidable in battle. After a few years, BS somehow evolved a defense mechanism which rendered him somewhat resistant to magic, As a result, he was deemed unfit for further experiments and trained to fight in the pits both for the wizards amusement and to train his body to react as a fighter so that he could undergo the process of becoming an undead soldier himself.
Escaped eventually, and roamed through the Dale, mad with hatred and bent on vengance. Killed any mage he came across as he saw them all as evil, and eventually his name came to be feared among powerful factions. Eventually, he wound up with a price on his head large enough to make living in the north impossible, and simply dissappeared from the region.
Surfaced in the south, outside of Athkatla, where he developed a forced friendships with the druid cernd and began to question his motives and reclaim his life. Became associated with the Dark Flames for awhile before his past caught up to him and he decided to end things once and for all. Went back to the Dale, and found atonement after he helped rally the region to destroy the citadel.
Now wanders the land, taking whatever type of work suits him at the moment, and has ended up in Windhaven. Combat
BS disdains the use of ranged weapons, only using his throwing dagger in a bind when there is no other choice. Prefers to fight close in with his opponents, relying on his skill rather than sheer power. Is very good at fighting in such close quarters, and loves the rush of battle.
When combating mages, he shows no hesitation or fear, closing as quickly as he can as most mages are no threat unless you give them time to work their spells in his opinion. On occasion, this , of course, backfires. Equipment
Plain leather armor, pair of throwing daggers attached to his bracers, and Striker, a bastard sword that will dispell one protection spell per sucessful strike as well as having the ability to cast Spellstrike once every three days. Special Abilities
Magic resistance as follows:
Complete imunity to hold or charm type spells. Any spell that seeks to contain his movement or dominate his mind will have no affect on him.
50% magic resistance more or less to any spells that target him specifically, such as Lightning, Magic Missle, etc.
All area effect spells (Fireball, Cloudkill, etc) have the normal effect on him as on anyone else.
At times, his temper can snap and he will enter a beserklike state, increasing his ferocity and attack, but lowering his defense and causing him to lose track of anything else save for the fight in front of him.
Can sense the manipulating of energies that comes with spellcasting to a certain extent. In populated areas, it's barely noticable, but in the wilds he can track a spellcaster who is either powerful enough, covered with magical artifacts, or casting provided they are close enough to him. Weaknesses
Magic resistance for BS comes at the price of pain. While not as severe now that he has learned a bit of control, any spell targeting him will cause discomfort and continual exposure will cause his concentration to wane resulting in an erosion of efficeincy until the exposure is ended. healing spells offer the same type of pain, and as a result BS will not use them unless in a lifethreatening situation. Thus, any injuries he sustains in combat have a longer lasting effect that the wounds sustained by others who can heal magically.
Coming out of the beserk state leaves BS sluggish and unsure of his surroundings for a few minutes, during which time he's much more open to attack.
Cannot use bows, crossbows, or slings, at least can't hit anything with them.
Blondes, Brunettes, and Redheads.

| | | Tashara:
Race: human female
Class: decent fighter, high level mage, some druid spells and abilities (notably, lupine shape shifting)
Alignment: varies, but in general on the good/neutral side of the spectrum
Past: spent a long time with the Dark Flames. After the battle with the Abomination, she soon left the group, in order to wander, explore, and eventually seek out the community of elven druids and rangers mentioned to her by T'lainya. She does not care to discuss her past, beyond fairly skeletal details.
Appearance: Tashara is quite small, and stands about 5"4. She has dark hair which she wears long and loose. For reasons she does not yet understand, her hair colour has changed from a dark blond shade, to nearly black over the last five years. Her eyes seem to shift between a deep charcoal grey and intense blue depending on her mood and surroundings. Tashara's eyes have an extremely slight slant to them which might hint at a Kara-Turan or elven ancestor. However, only the most perceptive of observers would be likely to notice. Tashara has an olive tint to her skin; in the warm seasons she is very dark.
Personality: In her past, Tashara was given to considerable darkness, owing to circumstances. However, in recent years, she has adopted a more balanced, and at times, even light-hearted, perspective. She greatly enjoys verbal sparring, and can be extremely ascerbic if the mood takes her. Tashara is given to fairly frequent moments of reflection and introspection; she will often lapse into silence and observe conversations occurring about her.
Of note: Tashara is prone to wild surges of magic if she loses control of her emotions or temper. This can have some interesting effects.
Combat: Tends to prefer spellcasting. However, she is an able fighter and can handle a longsword with considerable skill. Occasionally, when out of ranged spells, she will use a longbow, but her ability with it is less than stellar.
Equipment: Occasionally Tashara wears a mage robe and relies on "mage armor," "stoneskin" etc. However, she tends to prefer a specially crafted, enchanted chainmail. Her cuirass is designed for bare arms to help provide for freedom of movement and uninhibited spellcasting. It is a highly enchanted and gives her immunity to all mind affecting spells (as well as "sleep"). The chainmail is silvery black with the faint glow of emerald green beneath. She wears a sleeveless buccaneer style type of tunic beneath it, dark pants tailored close to the legs to prevent excessive floppy material in battle. For colder temperatures, or when she wants to blend into her surroundings, she pulls a dark, earth-toned cloak around her. Her boots are elven.
Tashara's longsword is also special. It is made from a mysterious metal alloy of some kind (only she and one other know how it was forged). It is dark silver in colour and seems to glow with an inner light. The sword is lethally sharp and rarely needs to have its blade reconditioned. Its hilt is decorated by an intricately worked copper-coloured inlay of a dragon. Because she is of relatively small stature, the sword has been carefully adapted. It is a little shorter than most longswords, and its grip is designed to precisely fit her hand.
Nobody else can wear Tashara's gear. Both the chainmail and sword were crafted specifically for her.
Special abilities: can shapeshift into a wolf several times per day.
Weakneses: To be revealed as the story advances Axis
A fairy dragon and Tashara's familiar. Axis is both mischievous and very arrogant. He constantly questions the decisions his mistress makes while reminding her of her flaws and weaknesses. Yet, he is unfailingly loyal, and eventually always does her bidding.

| | | Aegis
Race: Human, male
Class: Fighter/Rogue. Essentially, a jack of all trades, relying on both talent, and prowess to get through any situation that may arise.
Alignment: He tend to follow his own moral code, but typically leans towards helping those he can, even if he never really admits that he's doing so.
Appearance: Roughly six feet in height, with somewhat messy shoulder length brown hair, and aged looking grey eyes. His body is well toned, nothing spectacular, but quite capable of intricate movement, as well as strength. His poise always gives an aire of confidence and capability.
Personality: In accordance with his appearance, his demeanor is one of confidence and comfort. He never appears to take many things seriously, often making light of a sitution, but with an undertone hidden somewhere under the genial appearance. He genuinly cares for those he travels with, and will defend them profusely if the need arises.
Combat: A self-proclaimed 'Lancer'. Prefers to get the drop on an oppenant, often literally. If he gets the opportunity, he'll find higher ground, only to pounce on his enemy with his glaive.
Equipment: He wears a dusty blue shirt, with the sleeves torn off at the shoulder. It appears to have more mass than that of typically clothing, possibly hiding a more durable chain mesh underneath. His left shoulder is covered by the skull of a young wrymling, held on tightly with a thick leather strap that runs acorss his chest and back. He wears similarily coloured breaches, giving an appearance was once that of a uniformed soldier, but that has long since allowed any markings and insignia's to wear away. He has the look of a traveller, and sell-sword, and is never seen far from his weapon of choice, a six and half long glave.
Special Traits: Has an annoying knack of literally getting the jump on his oppanent. Gypsy
Race: Human, Female
Class: Rogue
Alignment: She has a rough exterior, often being seen as blunt and abbrassive, but typically does the right thing.
Appearance: Gypsy maintains an exotic look for that of the Sword Coast. Her olive skin, and curly black hair appearing to more suited for the city of Calimshan. Her looks oft beguile men, and cause many women to mistrust her, and her green eyes hold a deep, inner guile. She stands only five and half feet, but is more than capable of making herself appear larger, if not physically, than in presence alone.
Personality: A quick wit, and razor tongue. Her abbraissive behaviour has often lead her into more trouble than it's worth. While she maintains that she can handle anything that's thrown her way, there have been a couple instances in which Aegis has bailed her out of trouble. He'd never mention it to her that way, as part of the game the two play. While to strangers she may seem cold and distant, her loyalty to friends and comrades knows no boundries.
Combat: Up close and personally. Quite adept in knife and dagger fighting. She prefers the light weight use of twin daggers as opposed to something larger, and more cumbresome. While she insist's that Aegis's Glaive is over-compensation, she has been known to admit that size does, in fact, matter.
Equipment: A leather vest covering a white, low cut blouse, with a pair of tight leather breaches. She isn't much on bulky armour or clothing, but maintains an appearance of class and style. She is adorned with all sorts of exotic jewelry however, from earrings to a necklace, to a rather unique looking belt. Her weapons, aside from her razor sharp tongue, are a pair of twin daggers which she keeps neatly stowed in two sheathes made right in her leather vest. |

| | | Yshania; Female half Wood Elf druid Deity - Rillifane Rallathil, The Leaflord, protector of the land; but in moments of contemplative darkness, or the much rarer blind rages, she has found herself sympathising with the one consumed by bitterness and sheer hatred of the Dark Elves – Shevarash, the Night Hunter. Appearance - She is 5’5” tall with long, wavy hair. She has tanned skin and dark grey eyes, considered most rare amongst the Sylvan blood, but common and uninteresting in the human world. Personality – Though adamant that she is happier in her own company, she does prefer to share her experiences, even when they are not vocalised. She is slow to warm to people, but when she does, she places great value on their friendship. She is known to be self-critical at times but she is generally easy going, and has a good sense of the ridiculous, obviously inherited from her human father. Background/skills – Yshania’s father, Baern, was a human Sellsword whose absence through wanderlust and desire for adventure never truly over-shadowed his love for his child. Her mother, Mari, was a Wild Elf Druid, whose vocation was to find an accepting settlement in which to bring up her half-breed child safely. Both parents died savagely at the hands of an invading Drow party, and having survived the attack Yshania was subsequently driven from the village, believed to be the harbinger of misfortune. Thus she met the lone druid/ranger, Mael, her beloved friend and spiritual guide. Yshania is an accomplished druid, whose desire for vengeance had her progress far into the Druid Avenger discipline. In later years, however, following her exhausting experience against the Shadow Master and the Abomination, she sought a simpler life. Seeking employ at a tavern, she revelled in anonymity and spent her free time roaming the surrounding forests and finding peace again, simplifying and refining her skills. Subsequently her limited arcane knowledge, common to the Avenger class, and a selection of her shape-changing abilities became secondary in her search for a natural balance. Her final hours in the Abominations lair are either unremembered given her fire elemental form, or denied in retrospect. Combat – Yshania dual wields scimitars, but also has some proficiency in long bow, though she prefers to use her spell repertoire over ranged weapons. Her average constitution and intelligence are compensated by higher wisdom, and her slightly higher than average strength and dexterity are further boosted by magical items. Further, she has the ability five times per day to shape change into any of black panther, boar, winter wolf, shambling mound, polar bear, dire bear, dire panther and fire elemental. Each transformation heals some hit points, and brings its own combat/scouting benefits. She is immune to poison, and has the skill Timeless Body, which negates physical fatigue. Equipment – Twin scimitars: Irony, a lethal Drow enchanted weapon causing extra slashing damage, a 15% chance of causing haemorrhaging on each successful hit, and a 10% chance of casting Web. Libra, a white silver blade affording a 20% chance of healing the wielder on each successful hit, an extra attack per round and free action when wielded.
Instead of a helm she wears an incandescent blue Ioun stone. This stone offers no determined beneficial properties, except that it is reputed to increase wisdom – and it looks nice.
Natures Vengeance, when worn, this cloak has a chance of cursing any enemy who dares commit violence towards the wearer. The retribution is 10% chance of inflicting Bane whenever an attacking enemy successfully hits.
Gauntlets of Dexterity.
Leather armour – nothing special, but its weight and design allow freedom of movement.
Figurine of The Guardian - able to summon a huge elemental creature, existing partly in the elemental plane and partly in the material plane, hence it appears ethereal. A very powerful ally, but a hopeless scout. Needs to stay by his mummy, great for close combat situations.
Black Onyx Ring - able to summon her elemental panther companion - Githra. No limits per day, but for allowing he rest. In a non-combative environment, he may remain for a couple of days at a stretch. When fighting, or injured, this time is greatly reduced. However, he is yet to demand his own return to his elemental plain.

| | | Kieshe D'lente Race: Half-elf female Diety: Kieshe generally worships Oghma, though she will also pray to Lliira (sp?) Class- Kieshe is a bard. She is not that far into her career though, and could use help. She has a wonderful voice though, and is a good singer. Appearance: Kieshe is around 5'5, 5'6. She has curly auburn hair, around shoulder length. Her eyes are silvery green and cheerful. She is rather lean and muscular, she is not bulky in any way. Most of her movements seem almost fluid. Personality- Kieshe is relatively cheerful and outgoing. She can be shy attimes, though that is pretty rare. SHe is more than happy to share some gossip if asked. She is very friendly, though she does not care for people who complain about everything. Background- Kieshe comes from a family of half-elves. She has eight brothers and sisters, Kieshe being in the exact middle. She is quite used to having young children running around; and indeed, when she still lived in the village with her family, when she wasn't helping out around the house, looking after her younger siblings, and taking music lessons with he local bard, she was helping other families with their children. It is probably from this experience that she has developed a love for children. Kieshe has been traveling for nearly three years now, hoping to get more expertise as a bard. She left most of her family behind in the village, except for her two oldest brothers; one, who joined the Order of the Radiant Heart as a cleric, and the other, whom she has not heard from since he left for the southern border of Tethyr nearly five years before. Kieshe is rather worried about him, with all the orcs about. Combat- Kieshe generally uses her rapier. She could probably weild two, though she prefers not to. She has a shield that her brother Paton gave her when she was visiting him at the Order of the Radiant Heart building in Athkatla, though she generally doesn't use it. As a bard, she is fairly agile, and can whip around opponents quickly. She has a limited use of arcane spells, though she rarely uses them except for the occasional defensive spell. Equipment-
Rapier +1
Shield of the light - a gift from her brother Paton, she rarely uses this unless she is fighting against a large force.
leather armor- normal armor, it has kept her from most battle-injuries so far.
Npc's-
Tyrell- a five-year-old boy that Kieshe has just rescued. He is quiet at first, thoguh he takes delight in almost everything. He has an occasional nightmare because of what happened to his family. He has already developed something of a bond with Kieshe in the short time that he's been with her, though I will work more on their relationship as the story progresses.

| | | My new character! Name
Delgath
Also goes by: The Dread Delgath
and Delgath the Destroyer Diety
Loviatar Class
Fighter/Blackguard Appearance
Not many get to see him behind his dark armour. Around 6" in height. Race
Although no-one can see through the armour plating, it is assumed he is human, but who knows, he could be some kind of crossbreed... Alignment
Neutral Evil Personality
Just what you would expect from overbearing evil. Delgath has no time for the 'good' people of the Realms and prefers to advance his own schemes (and that of his goddess) for power and general domination. Not above stealing candy from babies . Combat Style
While Delgath has no aversion to ranged combat, he prefers to mete out his revenge up close and personal. He will use a longbow when required though. Otherwise he will use his weapons blessed by his goddess. Weapons Long Sword of the Goddess's Pain- +1 wounding Longsword blessed by the clergy of Loviatar. Longbow +1 Other Equipment Full Plate of Pain- Darkly enchanted armour that has a chance of injuring the enemy of the weared on a succesful hit. Prayer Bag and Wand of Transmogrification- An item limited to summoning from the Lower Planes, this item is a highly enchanted item provided by the clergy of Loviatar. Tower Shield +1, +2 vs. Missiles Orb of Communication- Granted to Delgath by the priests of Loviatar in Bezantur, Thay. This device allows Delgath to contact the priests and vise-versa. This will help Delgath in his quest. Acquired in Part 5- Portable Hole- Given by the mysterious stranger met in the Ravenous Basilisk tavern in Ormath. This item shaped like apiece of black cloth allows someone to create temporary holes in walls, store equipment (like a Bag of Holding) or provide a safe hiding place. A similar item is rumoured to belong to dark elf leader of Bregan D'aerthe, Jarlaxle. The item can be resized as neccesary. Background
Perceiving himself betrayed by the 'good' folk of Faerun after his family was killed in an orcish raid, the guards from the local town were unable to assist in time. Delgath wandered for a time and soon found kindred spirits in the Church of Loviatar. Now he assists them as they assist him in his future plans for domination. No longer will he be a tool for the good rulers in the cities of Faerun.

| | Amara Human (We think) Female (Of this part, we're sure.) Diety
Mother nature. She's a druid like that. Class
Reformed Totemic Druid with some old theiving habits. Appearance
Slightly over five feet tall, and very lanky and uncoordinated. Blue eyes with long dirty blonde hair that is almost always braided, and has unusually pale skin for a woman who spends a lot of time out in the sun. Overall, she's not a hideous wench, but she's no fine noblewoman either. Personality
Amara is a cautious, analytical person. Since her skills had seriously degraded after the battle with the Abomination, the only real trait she has left to take pride in is her intellect. She enjoys calculating, analyzing, and theorizing about every enemy movement and thought. She is quite capable of figuring all manner of probabilities with 70% accuracy. When it comes down to it, if the party needs a number Amara will have it.
Socially, however, Amara is just as inadequate as she had been when she allowed people to call her Aqua-chan. Conversations with her are awkward as she often has to grasp for words and rarely can connect with most people. Very, very few folks actually comprehend her submissive nature and accept it. Background
Aquamarachan had been born a half-breed in an arrogant race of cat-like creatures, and had been cast out as a result. Eventually she found herself a slave to a dying Drow House. She lived most of her life in captivity, but with the aid of a Dark Flame member named Thantor was freed and escaped to the surface.
After living as a rogue in Baldur's Gate for a time with a small band of adventurers Aqua-chan became a member of a Shadow Druid sect led by Faldorn. There the dextrous theif learned the druidic practices, and was sent to dispatch the massive drow armys of the Abomination whom threatened the balance. Thus Aqua-chan met the Dark Flames.
After the battle was over and the Abomination was dead, Aqua-chan underwent a transformation in which she became two entities: one human, the other a feline creature. The cat-beast fled and dissapeared, and the human half returned to the Shadow Druids.
Faldorn, after becomming aware of the inbreed's change, declared the woman "reborn in the eyes of the grove" and was renamed Amara. Ever since Amara has viciously kept the name, not allowing anyone to call her anything different. Combat
Amara is completely and entirely incompetant when it comes to battle. When she had been a cat creature she had been an excellent archer, but all her talent was lost in her evolution.
When in danger Amara will often calculate risks and oppertunities before taking any action. Typically, she will summon a totem animal from the wooden carving on her belt to fight while she either flees or makes a strategic movement. Equipment
Amara has no specialty equipment other than her wooden totem carving. Her totem pole can summon five spirit creatures: a bear, a wolf, a lion, a hawk, and a snake. Unlike most totemic druids, however, Amara can select the spirit animals she summons, and the animals seem to be the same entities coming to her aid every battle.
Other than that she has a satchel of scrolls, document, quills and ink, and a journal. The woman doesn't even carry a staff. Special Abilities
None. Weaknesses
Amara is a very submissive, physically weak woman. After losing her felind essense her eyesight, hearing, strength and reflexes basically degenerated to a level equal to that of a human's, which was devastating to her senses. She must use priest spells to defend herself, and is often interrupted before she is able to cast the lengthy magics.

| | | Konig Maka
Half-Elf Male
Neutral Good
Diety: None, He just does their bidding
Class: Fighter/Mage
Appearance: He's a fairly average sized individual, with the typical height and weight of a normal half-elf (slightly smaller than a human, larger than an elf). In addition to his dark skin, his eyes are a blazing silver for reasons he doesn't know. Unlike most half-elves, he has a shaved head.
Personality: Konig's for the most part, very cold to strangers. He prefers to size them up before making contact with them and is very hard to get to know on a personal level, although he will act appropriately if approached by others; he's very well mannered and was brought up as a noble. Because of this, some people might consider him arrogant (especially because of his heritage) but it is more because he has very little love for the world. His cynicism does little to help that misconception though. As well as always being calm and confident, he progresses through things logically and while he is capable of being creative, he prefers to use tried and true methods.
To the people he knows well, his disposition is completely different. He is friendly, amiable, and is at times very chatty. To these people he is known to be one of the most pure individuals; Konig will in most cases do the 'right' thing and is always decisive in his actions. For the most part, he would like to see good done in the world.
Background: Konig comes from a similar world as Faerun, except that it has advanced to the point where technology is beginning to take hold. Besides that, all that he'll reveal is that he's the ruler of one of the nations in that world and the Gods have told him to eliminate half Black-orcs.
Combat: He has a simple progression - flintlock first and sorcery second. If his enemy is not subdued by that point he will move on into melee combat. He is a skilled swordsman and when combined with his magical powers, he is a force to be reckoned with.
Equipment of Note:
Deacon - A magical bastard sword that notifies the owner of any nearby threat, in combat or outside of combat. Other than that, normal magical properties.
Flintlock - Two shots and then it's done until he can reload (which is usually after the battle)
Trystian Seal (necklace) - Shows he is royalty, can cast armor and stoneskin once a day
Trystian Brooch (tattoo) - Shows he is royalty, provides a small strength and speed bonus
Guardian - A knife that has typical magical properties, can also cast flare three times a day (basically a bright flash that allows him to get away if need be)
Studded Leather Armor - Just plain armor
Weaknesses: He can alienate people with his attitude, he is extremely hard to communicate with during a fight and thus, can be a liability in battle if he's in a group as he will cast area of effect spells regardless of whether there's friends in the area or not. If confronted with a situation he is not trained for (which is extremely rare), he tends to freeze and loses his usual decisiveness. If in battle when this happens, Konig tends to revert to fighting purely on instinct and he loses his usual level of skill and power.
Has various old wounds that he unconciously tends to protect, which can compromise other parts of his body (but it would take a warrior of exceptional prowress to notice this because Konig's skill masks this).
He also has trouble dealing with women.
