| | Oh, I thought it would be in Faerum, but Goldhall is simply a figment of my imagination and it can be easily changed. We can set the story anywhere we like for my part.
btw: I gave Duncan a personality, as he sadly was born without one...

| | | ok, lets have the story take place in faerun and have it so imaginary places can be made up with in faerun.
Such as Asriel's dwarven fortress, Goldhall. |

| | | Right, I've changed a bit about my character. It makes more since that she worship Sylvanus, seeing she is a druid and Sylvanus is the god of the forest (correct me if I'm wrong about that). And saying that she is from the Spine of the World fits in better as well.

| | | "My Name is Gladiator" Hi all, me again, from the BioWare forums. Please forgive any spelling errors, I write this hastily because the <insert murderous swearword here> forum has logged me out and I write this over AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Name: Stanislav
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Lawful Good
Class: Slave-Gladiator (Fighter Kit)
Height: 7'0" (213 cm)
Weight: 400 lbs (181 kg)
Age: 16 / 18 in real life, but I like to be the youngest, though at this point in the year, the 18-year old lady on the first page is likely older.
STR: 19 / Large People, Strong build
DEX: 18 / Fast in the arena
CON: 19 / Large people, tough build
INT: 11 / Slave from infancy, never educated
WIS: 12 / Young, a bit aggressive
CHA: 16 / Crowd loves me
Languages: English (I'm quadrilingual in real life, but circumstances demand that I limit my guy's intellectual abilities)
Skin: Tan, injuries and scar all over the place, but I am far from hideous (there are some lines I will not cross )
Eyes: Dark
Hair: Dark Brown, almost black, short, straight
Build: Heavy, dense, powerful (I'm a warrior after all)
Note: Cannot yet read, please teach me.
Story: Born far north, in a farming community, I was captured at 3 by a raiding party, and enslaved. I became a gladiator at 6, fighting children, small animals, and eventually men at 10. My people were big, so I was as big as a small man at 10. my 2 Gladii are like Second nature to me. I love Lions, and strive to fight as fiercely as they do.
Code of Honor: Never kill unless I have to (Opponent is malicious, evil, insane). I was flogged and beaten for sparing opponents, and opponents were executed regardless.
Women: Women gladiators were rare, as they were quick and agile, but died quickly against the larger gladiators. Our proprietor abandoned the practice of woman gladiators. As such, women are a novelty to me. Let the DM do with this as he/she wishes.
Equipment:
2 Gladii, 1d10+2 dmg, +1 THAC0
Armor with Lion decoration, AC 7
Bracers, AC +1
Leather boots
Helmet
Book of Gladius enchantment salvaged from village. Use later.
Setting: If BG2, then Copper coronet slave revolt. Else, either liberated by party, or free to begin with. Up to DM.

| | | A little about my Gladiator Kit I have just written my first little MOD: The Gladiator Kit, using Westley Weimers (Thanks! ) WeiDU program, and Ghreyfain's (Thanks! ) Tutorial.
Here is the Description:
GLADIATOR: The Gladiator is an expert fighter. The sword is his life, and he receives many advantages to better wield it. However, as a melee combattant, his ranged skills are absent, and as a slave, he receives a penalty to mental abilities.
The Gladiator may only be of Good, Lawful Neutral, and Chaotic Neutral alignments
Advantages:
- Bonus -3 to THAC0
- Bonus -2 to AC
- May use 'enrage' ability once per day per 3 levels. The enraged state lasts for 60 seconds.
- While enraged: + 2 to hit, +2 damage, -2 AC
- While enraged: immune to Charm, Hold, Fear, Maze, Imprisonment, Stun and Sleep.
- While enraged: gains 15 hit points. These hit points are temporary, and are taken away at the end of the berserk spree, possibly killing the Gladiator.
- STR, DEX, CON, and CHA can be raised to 19
Level 5:
- Bonus -1 to THAC0, +1 Damage for every 5 subsequent levels
Level 10:
- Bonus +1 to STR, +1 to CON, -1 to THAC0 (also at 25, 40, and 50)
- War Cry (also at 11 and 12)
Level 15:
- 10% Physical Resistances
- 10% Magic Resistance
- Immune to Poison
- Whirlwind Attack (also at 16 and 17)
- Critical Strike (also at 16 and 17)
Level 17:
- Deathblow (also at 18 and 19)
- Smite (also at 18 and 19)
Level 20:
- 5% Physical Resistances for every 5 subsequent levels
Level 50:
- 5% Magic Resistance
Disadvantages:
- INT and WIS can be no higher than 16
- May not use missile weapons (slings, bows and crossbows, darts) unless they also have a melee component (such as magic axes and daggers that can be both used in melee and hurled)
- May not wear armor heavier than studded leather
- May only obtain *** in all but the Short Sword, Scimitar, Dagger, Spear, and Quarterstaff
Ok, now, why is he so powerful? We all thought the Kensai was the ultimate fighter. INCORRECT! Though the Kensai is a good fighter, I personally, who made the MOD, do not like the kit, and Chloe's arrogance for rather pathetic fighting skills only serves to further that. (I love the MOD, and she is useful, but dreadfully arrogant, and not nearly as good a warrior as she passes herself off for)
Furthermore, The Kensai may spend a great deal of time training and the sword is an integral part of his/her life, he/she does not come close to the Gladiator, for the Sword is his life.
Abilities: Berserk: The Gladiator can go berserk if necessary, doing everything he can to survive. +1 THAC0, +1 Damage: He trains no less than the Kensai, perhaps more Physical Resistances: Broken bones and lacerated skin heal stronger than before. Plus I thought it would be nice. Magic Resistance: Frankly, I just thought I'd throw that in for fun, but fighting mystical creatures, you develop methods to counter them, one being MR. STR, CON, and THAC0 increase: Training full time make the gladiator a self-improving warrior. AC Bonus: Lightly armored but hard to hit. Starting THAC0 Bonus: You have to be good to qualify. HLAs at lower levels: Once again, training makes you all the stronger. Immune to Poison: Just thought I'd toss that in, considering the food Gladiators generally get.
That about covers it.
Oh, question for anyone in the BIZ: Is there a free data repository site I can upload my MOD to so people could enjoy it? Yahoo Briefcase can be made public, but requires a Yahoo ID to access regardless.
Thank you

| | oooOOOooo! I'm already sensing a conflict between my character and Stanislav This is great! But we really need some form of thief now (unless Stanislav can just bash alle the doors, and trip all the traps and later be resurected by kitty )
btw: added Duncan's stats

btw: added Duncan's stats | To be frank, at this hour, I don't mind being a pincushion tank, and I probably can bash most of the non-magical doors, but a thief would come in handy. Also, why do you think there will be conflict? If it's something obvious that I've missed, please forgive me, I'm a little dim in the morning.
Oh! It's because you're a Kensai, isn't it? Well, as I said, the Sword is my life. Kensai get to do stuff like read and eat at leisure, and sleep when they want to, but Gladiators don't have the luxury, so they find solace in training. In general, a good gladiator was much stronger and more skilled than a professional soldier. Hence, he was also stronger than the Kensai.
You'll still be a Wolf of a fighter, it's just that I'll be a Lion(except for the intelligence component, which I decided to deprive my guy of )!

| | About the conflict, you have a character who relies ( ) on brute strenght, anger and equipment. All the things my character does not rely on. that's what the conflict is about. both of them trying to prove that their way is the best, Your character exceling in 1on1 armed combat, and my character exceling when caught flat footed, as in an ambush, or a sneak attack while he sleeps.
However, it would be hilarious seeing your huge muscleman, banging his head against a door he cannot open

| | | My guy does rely on Strength and Equipment, but also on skill, and not so much on anger. My guy isn't just a brute but a skilled warrior.
Also, everyone posted levels, mine is level 8, 120 HP. The reason it's so high is that I have been doing nothing but fight day in day out for 10 years. In Faerun, that's 3600 days, and at 125,000 XP, that's a mere 35 XP per day, so If I kill a Kobold every day for 10 years, that's level 8. Since I have killed other men, worth more than 35 XP, I think that covers it for my level. |

However, this isn't powergaming, we are just writing a story, no need for your character to be way more experienced than us others. I think it would be more fair if all the characters started around the same lvl. Since your character class is extremly powerful, itwould be obvious that he should advance slower than other class, to compansate for all his powerful abilities, just a suggesition.
Let's see what cipher means. (I think he is in another timezone than we are)
after all, it was his idea.

OK, let him be level 6, 90 HP. He is not so powerful as to upset the entire story, but being a better fighter than everyone else is a given if you've spent all your life fighting. |

| | So far:
cipher - sorcerer (Salem Val'dor)
werebeargoddess - druid (Kitty Johannson)
arsiel - wild mage/kensia (Duncan E'alith)
golden lion 86 - slave-gladiator (Stanislav)
welcome golden lion, although your fighter kit does appear to be abit over powering you have no objection from me. A powerful ally is always welcome, just don't be designing any new enemys for us to fight!
ps- lowering your level to 6 instead of having in at 8 was probably for the best. |

| | | Look Golden Lion 86, I don't think we need to know ALL your stats, we are just writing a story, we're not going to play it. I think you should spend your time pondering on the story instead of calculating your stats. After all, we won't write it like:
"Stanislav closed in on the ogre shaman, he could see it was at full health with 93\93 hp. Stan prepared himself to thrust his gladius into the beast's abdomen. he checked his thac0. Oh yeah, with a main hand thac0 of 6, there was no way he could miss. as he struck the ogre, he rolled a d10 +2 +11 to determine how much dmg he had just done. Bo Ya! He made a roll of 7+2+11=20
now that he had done 20 dmg the ogre was down to 73 hp, this creature was no match for stan as he instantly prepared himself for another thrust..."
No offence meant in any way, I just think we should come up with a story insted of stats.
