And I would like a release of Fallout 3 by a competent developer...even after the end of 2007.

I would agree. I recall Daggerfall's random dungeon format, and at first it seems wonderful with limitless adventures awaiting, but Bethesda's style of randomness became more irritating than enjoyable. I can just imagine finding a random cave, getting locked in, and no keys anywhere to escape or go anywhere except in circles. If it's first person perspective, I hope they do something different to improve the cave walls from the old floppy disc games where you type in your words, and all the walls look identical.

sorry I had no time to read all the replies. I wanted to say that fallout has these bonds that attract gamers. It is the retro music , the music that makes u feel helpless and it's up to u to make things right. I reached some kind of stage that I realized all the NPCs may have nothing to live about. the situation is tragic and I think that made me play the game more and more. they should use some things from fallout 2. I doubt that this info on this site about fallout 3 , all our discussions will ever reach the developersof fallout 3. anyway whatever the game is I will most probably like it. another thing the game should be longer,I think there is no need to say that there should be more weapons, armors and etc. )

theres a few things that absolutely must stay in the game

1.the vaultboy pictures (mr. pipboy?)
2.the leather jacket
3.the chance to get extra professions (be a boxer, porn actor, martial artist, etc. along with new ones of course)
4. the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system, and the skill system as well

as for slavery and whores i think they should stay too, this is suposed to be a world you dont wanna live in

in can live without a car but it would make it much cooler

also all the pop culture references... the game wouldnt be the same without them.. its what gives it the special kind of humor that made me love it

Not necessarily a return, but more rather of something that I'd like to learn.
I'd enjoy seeing more information surface on what really happened to the rest of the world. Apparently, England sank under the sea as a result of the war, but what else?

A definate return should come from the kid that the Chosen One knocked up Angela Bishop with. As far as I know, that's canon, right? He cleaned up New Reno, uniting it under the Bishop family.
Some more Brotherhood would be nice, maybe a different kind of group too.
Devolving Mutants, anyone?

Well, if the game is situated to the time after the second Fallount, and around same area, then I would strongly agree with this. But not if the games is situated in example in Europe, as I don't see any way the child would be able to get there...

Well, as I posted somewhere else already, I would love to see a Fallout in which information is revealed about what happened to the rest of the world.

In Fallout Tactics, there was a ghoul with a description that said something along the lines of "He lived in England and stayed there until it sank"

But that's about it. Anybody read the Fallout Bible by, the way?

One of the thing from fallout 2 that should be returned is that you find thing by yourself (not loike Brotherhood Of Steel- after the misson you can buy tons of cool stuff) It's cooler when u find things yourself. I think the camera should be as fallout 2 and fallout BoS , not like van buren. The styles of the missions/goals should be sth between Fallout Bos and Fallout 2 - In BoS u r sent to a mission and if you don't complete it i cant's return but in fallout 2 you are set on sth like a freelance. Thats all for now

1: Dark humour and sneaky remarks
2: Crazy pop culture references
3: Multiple ways to achieve an objective
4: Topdown view but with options to zoom
5: Party members (but not Oblivion and Morrowind mentally challenged recruits)
6: Running over people in vehicles (ala Tactics)
7: Speech skill
8: Examine objects cursor
9: Bozar
10: Swearing
11: Weapon upgrades
12: Caravan runs
13. Bottlecaps

You can forget about any connections to Fallout and Fallout 2's story line. All info I've points to Fallout 3 being set on the East Coast.

I liked Fallout: Tactics too. With the same character development system and similar graphics it felt like it was still part of the same world.

Things I'd like to see return:

1. A certain dog or at least a relative.

2. Slavery. Its a dark and dirty world this game is set in. When humanities dark side in control slavery will be there. Besides kicking the c#@p out of Meztger in Fallout 2 was a blast.

3. This should even need to be said but the skill system has to be there.

4. Targeting various body parts.

And then...

1.

The summarizing at the end of fallout 1 and 2. It was great to get to know what happened with the vartious places that you put your hand in while travelling around. I also hope that they will make more 'advanced' situations in the various junk towns: you might solve the radiation leak in Gecko and improve the powerplants effectivity, still this doesn't result in an salvation of the people of Gecko, instead it results into their damnation). Offcourse you could solve this problem better if you put more time into it. Still I think it was great that I thought that I was helping but in the end my 'help' resulted in missery.

2.

The pipboy-figure should return in the character creation (persk, feats, etc. etc.).

3.

Whores, drugs, slavery, gore, destroyed towns and alot of missery and suffering. It's an dirty world and thats one of the things that makes Fallout 1 & 2 so great.
