Since there are only 4 of us posting here thats 2 out of 4.

So basically all you wanted to do in your posts was to offend us? Weird thought you just really hated BoS.

Dude, just becuse you didn't like Fallout: Tactics doesn't mean you should insult anyone who does.
Imposing your opinions on other people is ignorant.

Besides, Tactics was a pretty good game FOR WHAT IT WAS. It said right on the package that it wasn't an rpg, but a squad based combat game!

So lessee, imposing your opinions on other people, typecasting a license, and faillng to read the box of a game you would crticize... well that's three strikes!

I must say I liked Fallout: Tactics as well. It was no traditional fallout, but it certainly had some nice gameplay elements and I felt it still had a big part of the fallout feeling.

But to get back on topic. What I would really like to see again, and I'm surprised no one has said that before, is Mr. Pipboy! That nice little comic fellow that appeared in the pipboy screen and with all the perks and attribute descriptions. I loved that little fella! Together with those fifties posters and that traditional music, it made such a big impact on the whole fallout feeling.

Well, at least I was thinking it so obvious that it's not worth of actually mentioning...

But yes, of course Mr Pipboy should be there!

The return

I really loved the char build system so i would see a enchanced version of that... same style, i liked the cartoony pics with the perks ect ect.
Whores... sure, as in gta style or something
The overal map free to explore always did it for me, that also makes the game more replayable. a car yes... this this i want to be able to upgrade stuff.. armor ect ect.. weird random ecounters... lots of 50ties style posters. oh and the music..... the music from 1 was great... the background music was earie.. liked that... the gore, fallout needs gore... and should be full of misteries and myths urban legends... like when they didnt really knew if deadclaws really existed.. and lots of junk towns... with lots of side missions... i could go on and on... but i already saw the crowd here sux so ill shut it

As long as you can have a posse, a highwayman, and the game doesn't suck I will be happy. No posse or no highwayman=bad verison of fallout. I can't play fallout 1 after playing fallout 2. Without the car and your crew it just doesn't feel right.

I'd kinda like a motorcycle. Perhaps if followers are still in the script, perhaps a bike for them all and become our own force of nature and look good at the same time.

Well

...I like FO: Tactics, too.

That said, while FO2 was realistic in that your posse did whatever they felt like doing, I'd rather have squad/tactical control of my companions. I like tactical games (as long as they aren't FPS...then there's too many durn controls), and I love Fallout. Now blend the two.

Fallout:2 was more of a tactical game than Fallout tactics: It was just that it wasn't fully developed. Real time games will alwasy be about reflexes rather than tactics. Figuring out how to use your action points and move around a batlefield is alot more tacical than moving guys in real time. If fallout had given you complete control of your NPC's and had more interesting setups for battles, it would have been far advanced tactically.

Well, despite a discussion on Fallout:Tactics doesn't have that much bearing here, but Fallout 2 was not more tactical then Fallout Tactics, not even remotely on the same level.
In FO:T you had minute control over each individual, their position, movement, targets, equipment - and you could "mask" the real time aspect by going into turn based mode. Also the whole idea in FO:T was mission based aspect - that is the tactical aspect of a battle. No major plotline to influence, no effect on the strategy etc. Also there were nothing reflex based in FO:T unless you wanted it to.

In Fallout 2 all you had control over, in regard of party members, was the equipment and only somewhat at that because they could change weapons if they "wanted" to. Other then that no to little influence on their combat and the game did not focus much on these battles (thus again the tactical aspect).

However the two games do not compare much outside the fact that they are set in the same gameworld.

And had similiar interface... and used S.P.E.C.I.A.L -character creation system...

But what should return... of course, S.P.E.C.I.A.L should be there, since it worked very well, and was original. Also there are items which has been through the whole series (like stimpaks, most of the drugs, most of the weapons etc.).

As long as Harold returns, it has some sort of decent connection to the storyline of Fallout 1&2(i would hate it to be a completely new story with no reference to the first 2 ever happening.),and as long as the combat is turn based i'll be happy.

I would like a release of fallout 3 before the end of 2007. And for the record I still play fallout.
