Save error

While playing fallout 3 my system suddenly restarted,when i loaded my save file i am back at the entrance of vault 101 and i get a message regarding fast travel.I had completed most of the quests but my pipboy shows that i have no quests and have not found any locations
Is there anything i can do other than a reinstall and starting a new game?

If it was your only save,then yes you will need to start again . I would suggest saving often rather than saving over the same save again and again and that way if a save gets corrupted then you just go back to the save before.

I had 5 saves but all of them are corrupted,are you sure that nothing can be done?

That is a stroke of bad luck. But I doubt there is any way to salvage your corrupted save games. Perhaps a reinstall and some patching will prevent the problem from recurring again.

I agree with Loki, nothing you can do about it, just start a fresh game and carefull with mods installed. Save every time in different slots and often and don't save inside modded areas, load other basic game cell-areas before saving.

are u running FO3 under XP or Vista? can u list mods installed?
