If I recall correctly, you don't become a Childkiller if you do that.
As for gravedigging, you get that perk if you dig any grave except Anna Winslow's (The Den) and a couple of graves in Golgotha, more precisely, the one where the ghoul is buried and Pretty Boy Lloyd's stash. There may be another grave or two I forgot about, though.
