| | I did find smth in the readme file... it says that the violence levels can be changed and the language filter button can be turned on and off if I have the UK version.... and I have this features. => I have the UK version. I'm a rocket scientist
Now that this is out of the way, i'll reinstall without the 1.02 patch.
PS: There are a few kids in Klamath running like mad |

| | Hmm... IIRC UK version didn't include children...
But it's rather easy to check:
After installing the game, check the readme before installing any patches. THere should be mentioned in very beginning what version you are using...

| | Nope, nothing in the readme about the version I have. Not even on the CD. But in one of the patches readme it says that the US version is version 1.00 without any patch, and that's what I have. I have the language filter and violence level controler though Odd...
So now I should put the 1.04 patch or go straight for 1.05 ? |

| | Don't count on what the patches says about what the version your vanilla game should be...
Okay, just run the vanilla game without any patches. In the main menu there should shomewhere (IIRC lower left corner) visible the version you are using.
Oh, and the order would be 1.04 and then 1.05..
Though I suggest to download 1.03 as well from No Mutants Allowed - Your Post Nuclear News Center!
But lets check the version first, shall we

| | | Okay, try to run ScanDisk on the Fallout 2 -folder. Let's see if it's able to find something...
Also, you could run the ScanDisk to the cd as well...

| | | Do you have the same problem without any patches?
I've begun to doubt that this problem has nothing to do with patches, but instead you have in some way faulty game...

| | | It works now. Is there any bug now that would stop me from completing the game? Should I try to use only the official 1.02 patch ? |

| | | As I read the other thread you revived, I think it may be due the 1.04 patch... as you said there you had the same problem with the 1.04 patch as the final patch you installed.
So, I would suggest that you install that 1.02 patch, try again and if it works, then try either 1.04 OR 1.05 patch...
But if you have to select from between 1.04 and 1.05, I would go with 1.05. Never used 1.04 myself, and 1.05 works fine to me...

| | It works with 1.02, but it doesn't with 1.05. I'm so sick of reinstalling this game, time to enjoy it | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
