refuses to install

Picked this game up and installed it on my computer no problem, to make sure its all good and maybe play a bit. Went to do the same to my bro's computer and it just won't do it. I click install and from the launch menu and it just sits there and eventually goes away and its gone. Check the task manager and the setup.exe is in the processes list, but doesnt seem to be doing anything. I've tried going in manually and trying to start the .exe but it still will just drop into processes and not do anything.

assuming this isn't a repeat thread, any ideas on this problem?

specs:
2.2ghz AMD athlon
512mb RAM
Geforce 6600 vid card
Windows XP w/ SP2

Have you tried the Compatibility mode in Windows? It tends to solve many such problems. I have had the same problem with many of older games, including Tatics, and compatibility mode fixed those...

Also, if this doesn't work, is it possible to you to try to install it to other computer? Just to be sure if it has something to do with your computer or the cd...

compatibility did not help at all unfortunately. no change in its reaction either

i've already installed the game on one computer and started installation on my laptop. I stopped the installation there because it was just to see if it was only my computer that would run it for some reason.

i'm going for a last ditch effort of just copying the installed files off my computer to his and letting his computer sort out the config issues. see if that helps at all.
