| | | Just loaded for a first game! Okay, so I *just* got Fallout and Fallout 2 having never played before (I know, I'm way behind) and am wondering if there are any patches that I need to get for either game. I've played BG2 a lot (both SoA and ToB) and know that the forum for those games have "sticky" posts with all sorts of resources. Anything similar for either Fallout or Fallout 2?
Thanks - I'm looking forward to playing! |

| | Not that I know, but you could visit this site. Have a good time playing!
Btw, I'm wondering why some people are as late as you. The game is six years old! I admit, I played it just about 2 years ago, but now is really late.

| | | There is a patch for Fallout 1 which makes it more compatible with Windows I belive, and possible fixes some bugs. Will have to look that up.
I'll also recommend getting at least the last official patch for Fallout 2 - which is 1.04e or something if I remember right. There are unofficial patches as well - which I've never used myself.
And if you play a european version of Fallout 2 - I'd recommend getting the Children Patch (unofficial hack) to bring back children into the game. |

I've owned the game for years but could never get it to work!

| | | Asap In fallout1 there is a time limit of sorts you have to compete with, though it's not a short timer. With the FO1 patch it changes the timer to some odd years so you have all the time in the world you want to wonder the waist lands, rather then running on an invisable timer. |

| | | I most clearly do not recall my game getting a different timeframe by patching it with the Fallout 1 patch. |

| | | Patched changed it to make the Super Mutants take longer to reach the vault.
Maybe it's just me? But it was months in and I got screwed because the mutants found 13. Post patch I covered every square many times over trying to hit higher levels and went several years w/o the Mutant take over.

| | | IIRC the Mutants wil only find Vault 13 if you reveal it's location to them.
