Is there any way of uniting Fallout with WinXP

As the title indicates, my problem is that Fallout is not supported by WindowsXP (at least thats what it said when i hit the "install" button in the autorun.)

Is there any way to fix this? Preferably without having to do all kinds of strange techy stuff, i am a gamer, not a mechanic... Or whatever ppl who fixes computers are called............................................ ...................

There is answer to this problem:

Problem: During install, getting error that the game is not compatible with the version of Windows
Solution:
-The only known way to solve this is to copy the cd in HD and then changing the compatibility mode of install -file.

Here is detailed instructions how to change the compatibility mode:
After you have copied the cd to hard drive, click the install.exe (or setup.exe) with your mouse right button, then select preferences. There is tab there which reads "Compatibility" or something similiar. Then, just select the option "Use file in compatibility mode" (or something similiar" and select version of Windows, usually Win 95 or 98 is good option.

I recently revisited Fallout for a retrospective article I wrote, having not played the classic since upgrading to XP, and found that it runs just fine. The only problem I had was that whenever I ALT+TAB'd and then left clicked to get the game back up, the screen would be black, but the game's sound would be there. This became only a minor nuisance once I figured out all I had to do was wave my mouse cursor over the screen.

I've had that too; however, I don't remember in which OS it happened. Btw, scrolling the screen over the map also clears it.
