Frozen with Lloyd

I've got 1.02 reload version of Fallout II with the 1.04 and 1.05 patches installed on my PC with Windows XP.

I find Lloyd, and he takes me to the spot. Two things happen to me when I follow him down the ladder: 1) He disappears; 2) He's there, we battle, he gets killed, then my computer freezes every time. I've managed to save once as soon as the bullet enters his body, and when I re-load, it begins the game frozen. My last saved game is a long way back.

I can provide more info for help.

When testing what will happen, did you reload from that saved game which is long way back? If not, then load it and try if this happens again.

Also,taking a copy of the save and reinstalling the game COULD help, though there is no promises if it works in saved games from before the reinstalling...

Although, if you really want to do the quest, then you probably need to reinstall the game, and in the worst caes even begin from the very beginning. Though the problem may be fixed in the saved games as well.

Although, if the quest is not so important to you, the easiest way would just be to not do the quest...

And yes, the game is buggy even with latest patches, and there is those random bugs which you are currently experiencing... meaning that the very same problem probably won't occur after reinstalling, but there can be other, even worse bugs then...

I had the same problem but, without this quest that's one and two that when I was in the grave, I made a 1st step and then.. hack!! man, I was pissed off, but all in all I've patched the game, started everything from the scratch, and... now I can't blow up the Enclave... but I'm working on it.

I was able to get an error message through Window's manager -- an application error, and then "the exception breakpoint. A breakpoint has been reached (0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x7c901230.

I re-installed the game, managed to save the saved file, and it froze again. I'm guessing it's back to the beginning again.
