By accident I bought the french edition of the game.
I found that you can change the language in the ini file.
This works partialy. Movies, vocals, and some texts are still in french.

Is there a way to convert/patching them to the english ones?

Well... I am no expert (hell, i am not even an amateur), but maybe you could download a file or a patch or a mod or something that can convert the game to english version. Or you could learn french .

Now the part with the INI is interesting. Does this work for Fallout 1 as well? Because I have a German version and it sucks as hell... (I know of Polish patches for both games that change the English into the Polish version, but that was more a fanproject, it seems, and this surely doesn't help you, sorry...)

im not sure the ini trick works for fallout 1.

in changes the subtitles, most parts of the hud and most ingame texts.
the annoying, speech and movies are still in french. Including various texts.

I was also thinking by fixing this buy using english cinematics and sound files.
The trick is getting them. No im not gonna ask for game files

I tried patching and modding. The thing is, most of them do not change cinematics or sounds. when they do, they alter it, for mod purposes.
But hey i want to play the original

I think it will cost you less money and work to buy another, English copy.

And so I did. I found and bought me an English copy.
Out of curiosity I tried to replacethe French data files with the English ones.
and they worked offcourse.

(Now I have 2 versions of F2)
