Post Fallout Tactics-- initial thoughts

I need to get some of this off my chest:

1. buggy as hell-- even with the patch. There's the odd unexplained crash and frequent pauses on the loading/death screen.
2. combat in real time means you get wasted, but in turn based it is painfully slow. Is there a happy medium?
3. the manual is inadequate. It doesn't explain basics such as how to heal a crippled character. I don't know how to heal my blind character, and I have a doctor's bag.

But I do like the game so far (no, really). The post-apocalyptic Mad Max thing is fun. But the points above are wearing a bit thin.

Ad 1) With me the only actual bug I have is floating text getting stuck, but after a scroll it dissapears and sometimes when throwing grenades they throw what they have in the other hand too ??

Yes there are a lot of bugs, but my game runs stabile enough to play for several hours in a row with out any crash.

Ad 2) I always play missions in individual TB, because I feel real time isen't tactical enough. Then I would play RA/C&C.
There is also a Squad TB, but I haven't tried it.
Just remember you don't have to be in combat mode all the time.
I only uses real time in random encounters (witch I feel there are to many off) because I just want to get them over with.

Ad 3) place the doctors bag in one of the hands of you healer-guy (properly Sticth) - and either use it, or the doctor skill and click on the person needing healing.
(The blinded person must not be in full health, because then you can't heal him (even his blindness))

Hope this helps a little

Thanks, Xandax.

You are right about the bugs. For the most part they don't interfere with gameplay, but they are still annoying.

I didn't realise you had to equip the doctors bag to use it! I thought it just had to be in the inventory.

How far have you got? What are your impressions so far?
