Fallout screen blackout

I recently have been in the market for something new to play, i loved Baldurs gate SoA and ToB but needed something new. I found Fallout and am having dificulty enjoying it because whenever the screen sits on a location for a couple seconds it blacks out. The screen reapears if i move the frame over a bit but the control center thing at the bottom stays dark until i move my cursor over it, then just the part i have my cursor over becomes visible. I dont think this is normal so any advice would be welcome.

Yes i had the same Problem a few Days ago... but after i restartet my PC i had no more Problems....

Yes, restarting CPU could help.
Here are also some almost-famous things to check/do:
-Try to install latest patches
-Try to update your Video card's drivers
-Try to update your DirectX to newer version
-Try to reinstall the game

Have you tried to play it on other computer? Maybe there is something frong in the copy you bought. If the game works properly on other computer, then the problem is in your computer.

I'm having the same problem. I didn't try to fix it, but just open the Character screen (C) (and quit it). Then all is colored again.

Yes.. but it will appear in 1 oder 2 Minutes again...
Now i dont have the Problem any more...
