Defective NPC

Hi all I'm new on gamebanshee. I was wondering if anyone had this problem and how I could fix it. Currently I have Vic and Cassidy as NPC helpers, but while in san Fransisco our group came under attack by waligo somthing or others in the engine room of the boat moored in san fransisco harbour. During the battle both Vic and Cassidy were knocked down by criticals by the attacking creatures, at which point I escaped up the stairs and loaded in the floor above, but when it loaded both cassidy and Vic were still lying on the floor with only cassidy getting up! While bother were at acceptable health, after being healed the cassidy NPC still worked fine, but when attempting to speak orr interact with Vic a little bubble appears above his characters head saying " I've had it up to here!" and that is all, when in any city Vic just freezes and then after walking away, he just reapppears running through walls towards me then stops, and remains uninteractable. Please help this is really messed up and I need his help in completeing missions...etc repairing stuff.

Well - sounds as a bug, but I've never experienced it myself.

Is your game patched? The latest official patch of the game is 1.02e (I belive), it is possible that it has been corrected.
Otherwise I have no real advice

I would think there is some site, but I belive I have the patch (official 1.02e) on my harddrive at home, so I can put it up later today (local time) if you still have the need?
ALthough I can't remember if I have both the EU version and the US version........ it is possible I have both. I don't know which you need?

Remember that if you patch your game then you have to start all over again, old savegames can't be used with the patch. So if you patch the game, then you have to start all over again.

Not quite, there is a converter available at http://www.duckandcover.cx/fallout2/files.php

I've used this converter a long time ago (when the game and patch first came out) and it works fine.

And the most up-to-date patch is there too.

Cheers,
TGHO
