| | | Can't get 'Jonny' quest At the Tannery building in Modoc...there's a guy named Balthas that's supposed to give me a quest to find his son Jonny(who is in the Ghost Farm). The problem is...the option to help find his son doesn't show up in the dialog choices when I talk to him. The only dialog options I get are:
1. Show me your wares
2. Do you know of the Holy G.E.C.K?
3. Just looking around
I've tried them all and they don't work.
I already got Modoc trading with the Slags...I don't know what I could be doing wrong.
And I have the patch installed...so I don't think a glitch is the problem. |

| | | I had the same problem. I guess it was due to my low perception. The missing dialog choice would be something like: "You look troubled. What's wrong?". What perception do you have?

| | | I guess that must be the reason. My perception isn't good.
Alright thanks for your help.

| | | Charisma and speech are very important when talking to other people, often I get the chance to start asking about Balthas's troubles but I usually don't have much charisma (1 or 2) so he'd never give it to me normally.

| | | SPOILER WARNING!!
About the quest, how can you get Jonny to tell his story when you find him? I've tried several times selecting different dialogies, but every time he falls sleep. And this is not because of my char stats, because I can't find/get the correct option neither using my edited char (all stats 10, every skill 300%)
nor normal chars. Any ideas how to do it, I can't remember anymore (I've done this quest before, so that I should be able to do it again).

| | | Intelligence could be a major factor in identifying Johnny (or you haven't met Balthas and gotten the quest).

1) My INT is 10 (like everything else)
2) I've talk Balthas and I'm in that point when you have to find Johnny or there will be a war.
Also I know that it's not something to do with my cheat-char, because I've used the same cheat-char when I did the quest last time, so I know it is possible with that specific cheat-char.
Also it came to my mind that could this problem have something to do with the version I have. Now I have the English Version (yes, the same version which doesn't have children), but when I remember last time doing the Johnny quest I think I had American version. I had to buy new version because my old cd broke and when I bough new one I also got Fallout 1 and Fallout: Tactics.
So anyone heard/experienced this problem with english-version?

| | | My version doesn't have children in it - I since patched it - but I was still able to start the Jonny quest as normal. I haven't heard if there's another version with the whole jonny quest removed, not just broken.

| | | Well, I didn't mean that the quest has been removed from that version, I meant that maybe in that version there is for some reason bug in the Johnny quest which doesn't exist in other version.

| | | I can NEVER find Johnny ANYWHERE, but i think some clue relates to him in the Modoc well. Someone also told me that the Slags have captured him or something. But the one Kipi is talking about, is Karl (the missing farmer) who is in The Den. You also need a karma higher than 100-and-something if you want him to talk about Johnny.
To get Karls story, simply approach him and then say "What's your story?". (That is dialogue option number four) |

| | | I think you need INT 7 or something like that and to finish Quest with Slags first so when Balthas asks who are you, and you say your name, he will say that he heard good things about you. Then you'll get the quest. His son is in cave at Ghost Farm. At least thats how it works with me. |

But actually you touched my problem. I don't get that dialogue option. Or if I did, he didn't give me answer, but IIRC I don't get that option anymore.
