Application errors?

I have a problem that i was hoping you could help me with.

When i load a saved game, my screen sometimes goes black, and i hear that special 'ding' which means that the program has performed an illegal action bla bla, and it says that there has occurred an 'Application Error'.

And it happens EVERY time i load certain saved games. Multiple times, i have had to load to an earlier saved game.

If any of you know something i can do, before i try reinstalling, i would be thrilled.

I happens to me sometimes, and as far as I can see, it seems to be a savegame error, because when I load another save and overwrite the problematic one, everything comes back to normal.
