Am I Still Poisoned?

I got poisoned by a scorpion near the end of the Temple of Trials. I didn't use antidote because I knew the hearler in Arroyo would heal me, which he did. After that, it no longer said I was poisoned on the game screen or on the character screen, but while walking in the villiage I got the message "you've taken damage from poison" and I lost one HP. Why?

I ignore poision all the time and it rarely matters unless in extreme amounts from monsters like the Floaters or Centaurs.

I believe the antidotes not entirely curing poison is a side effect of it going through your body while your body tries to metabolise it. You will take a little poison damage even after using antidotes, but believe me it is much less damage as if you didn't.

It's really difficult to die from poison, unless you get surrounded by Floaters or Centaurs and hit several dozen times. Poison works similar to Radiation - when poisoned, you get a Poison Level. Each use of an antidote removes (I think) 25 points from your Poison Level.

Now, if your Posion Level is over a certain number, it is displayed on the main screen as a little box with Posioned! in it on the lower left hand side, and on the Character display, in the Status area, Poisoned will be highlighted. To ensure you have no poison at all within your system, you need to check the Character display, not just rely on the little display box.
