Question Abrupt Endsequence?

Hey, I was wondering if anybody had just had the game end on them before? I asked Uncle Scratchy about it but he said it had never happened before, that there was no "time limit", so to speak. When I tried to leave an area and go to the world map, it went straight to a cutscene of a bunch of supermutant brutally picking off the people in vault 13. It showed the Vault as if it had been attacked. I was just on my way to check out the mutant army for the Brotherhood Elders when this happened. Has this ever happened to anybody? And if so do you know why? Any help would be much appreciated.

Seems to be Fallout 1?

Then there is a time limit for turning in the Wather Chip, I can't remember the limit though, about 90 gamedays iirc?.
If there is a time limit after the chip I can't seem to remember, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is.

In Fallout 2 there is a time limit, it is just so high it is unthinkable that one would encounter it ... 13 gameyears iirc.

Yes it is in Fallout I. I know that the time for the water chip is about 150 days for certian unless you extend it with a water caravan from the hub. But I can't figure out if I a) waited too long or b) did something wrong in the gameplay (is that even possible?) Anybody know the problem?

There is a timelimit other then the water chip in fallout 1. If you use the caravans to get more time to find the water chip you decrease the total time you have to finish the game since the mutants will be able to find your vault sooner.

You got 150 days to retrieve the water chip and bring it to V13.

Then you got another time limit to destroy the mutant threat. This second time limit was removed by one of the patches. Get the patch.
