| that primary and secondary graphic device driver description sounds like you've got a single ATI card. ATI's are set up that way. if you decide you want to disable the onboard ATI, you need to leave the secondary driver alone. of course, if you DO disable the primary, that leaves you kinda stranded.
try going into your card settings in control panel and changing everything to oldtimey FO settings. 800x600 by 16 bit colors. and then change your compatibility mode for the FO exe to Win95 or Win 98.
might work.
worst comes to worst, go on a hunt on ATI's site for OLD drivers. try em out one by one, going as far back as you need. make sure you get their driver cleaner too. makes it go a lot easier on you.
