WARNING DON'T READ IF WAVE NOT BEATEN GAME
At the end of the game there is a letter you recive from rose that has been rasing some "conterversy" on one of my threads so I made this one. The debate is who is the man in the letter? Some say it's Jack of Blades! here's the letter...
Dear Sparrow,
I woke up today in such a peculiar place. It's like a great big forest, with lots and lots of trees that go on forever. I was scared at first because I couldn't find you, but there's someone here who says he knows us, says he knows our family. He told me his name, but I keep forgetting it. Weird. I think he's a king or something. He's very thin and wears a hood and looks scary, but he's nice and I feel safe with him here. I hope you're okay Little Sparrow. Somehow I know that it's all going to be alright, and we'll be together again one day. He promised me.
Love
Rose
... so who do you think it is, personally I think it might be that guy at the begning of the game who is carrying the scrolls in Fairfax castle.

It is very much like Jack - He seems nice when you first meet him, and pomises to reunite your family.
Then you find out the truth.
Then you go through the game again, and when you see the mural of Oakvale burning, you see Jack amongst the other people.
Could it possibly be the Guildmaster? He is rather nice. I know he didn't wear a hood in Fable 1, but neither did Theresa.
He might be a king or something - he is the head of the guild, and when you are a youngster in Fable 1, he is like a king, as he is the most powerful person you know.
By powerful I mean like the kind of power a ruler has. Not the stationery ruler, I mean as in a leader - not a dog walking leader, a leader as in a king.

I could almost go for the guild master but "looks Kind of Scarey" doesn't sound like the Guild master.

I find it hard to believe it's the guild master since I don't think he was born immortal like Theresa or cursed to it as Scythe was. Also, the loading screens said the Guild Master was found dead and some suggest the Hero did it. Don't think anyone could blame him...
For me I see only two possible people who fit the bill here. Jack and Scythe. They both match the description and both can be considered kings. Since Jack did help rule over Albion and Scythe was the original Archon. Jack did wear a hood but he would of had to switch bodies by the time Rose got the letter. Scythe never wore it but he did have a hood on his robe. Assuming what the game developers said was true Jack should also be dead since the game should be based off the good endings. But they could just as easily say that he was returned to the void instead of actually being killed. Scythe never met an end and is never supposed to of natural causes since the Sword of Aeons took his soul and thus forced him to become immortal. Read the story yourself and decide. Fable II : Tales Of Albion

I'm pretty sure Jack is dead. As I said in the other post, Rose wolud have been better off staying dead than winding up sharing a cabin with Jack of Blades.
Has anyone else considered that the mystery man could be The Hero of Oakvale.
He'd know the family considering he's an ancestor.
She keeps forgetting his name, thats a good way for the designers to get around the fact that he was never named, everyone called him "hero" or one of the various titles that could be purchased or earned throughout the game.
She thinks he's a king or something. He's a desendent of Archon, and the Guildmaster called him the greatest hero of all.
He's thin and looks scary, but is nice and Rose feels safe with him. After five or six centuries, he's probably withered a little and by the end of TLC, he wasn't exactly easy on the eyes no matter what ending you chose. If we go with the good endings of Fable then he'd be a good guy.

That still doesn't explain the hood. Why mention it if the only costume that has a hood is in TlC and is never usefull. And Jack is the only male 'hero' who ever wears a hood, plus that's a key part of his costume. Aside from that it probably is the Hero from oakvale.
GOOD WORK

Possible but Scythe has had many names, William, Archon, etc. And the Hero of Oakvale was never refereed to as a king. They made it rather obvious that he died too. The developers probably decided for her to forget his name so it wouldn't be obvious no matter what his name is. If it could be the Hero of Oakvale, I think that would be a great story from there on but he did die. (I'm sure if he was still around during the fall of the guild that those people would haven't even gotten to the front door.) As for the knowledge of your family I'm sure Scythe and Jack would both know a lot of about it too.

Its common for old warriors and wizards in stories like Fable to wear hooded robes. Especially if they're scarred or scary looking. Theresa doesn't wear a hood in the first game either, although I'm not convinced the Theresa in 2 is the same person thats in 1. (but that's a subject already in another thread)
The more I think about it, the less sense Jack makes in this situation. Sure Jack wore a hood, but the most predominant part of his outfit was his mask. In fact, if you'll recall, Jack's soul was in the mask, read the hero's journal after defeating Jack the last time in TLC.
If Rose were with Jack, she should have mentioned the mask in her description. She also says the man she's with is very thin. Jack's human form wasn't thin, nor was the Hero when Jack tried to take over his body. If Jack is back and in human form, "very skinny" doesn't seem like his style.

He could have left Albion, or given up being a hero. Maybe he thought the Guild wasn't worth defending anymore.

And remember alot of pepole were starting to dislike heros, and it would be better for them to give the Hero's story an end so there kids don't want to be like him.

I really think its Scythe because Jack is killed twice and i think it would be a bit redundant if Lionhead keeps throwing the same villain at us. Also, Scythe is pretty much the only guy that was not able to be killed in Fable TLC. They also released that information in the history of the old kingdom for a reason. William Black is most likely Scythe and they plan to use him probably.

If Jack is back then i have no faith in fable anymore....... Lets look at this logically. Scythe comes up in the story, and so does the hero of oakvale. Its one or the other. The thing is, unless this is in a future expansion, we will most likely never know. Peter likes to hint at lovely things that never show up, but he also likes to throw them in in a later installment. Examples ; The dragons mentioned up north in fable 1, that didnt happen until TLC also the Sandgoose was mentioned.......never showed up..EVER

I was thinking and it poped into my, if there is a fable 3, then maybe the guy in the letter might be a brand new guy. Maybe a friend or foe in a new fable. You never know they might have put that letter in to just confuse people. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
