Fable 2 should be a MMORPG and be just one massive level like GTA... i think this would be beast, being able to hide in the forests and jumping out on folk... using Horse or chariote to run accross open grass land... if the map was even larger, with maybe 2 mini continents there could be a desert or something like african sahara... that would be awseome...

to be a captain of a ship and ferry people accross the sea, or sink it deliberately and be an abs0l00t n00b....

Good ideas so far.

1) I found the timeline quite odd; You grow old, but no one around does. Your wife stays the same appearance and even Thunder and maze don't change. I think only whisper "grew". And you are 55 years old, and read in the stats that only 19 days have passed?? Or maybe the fact that you spend whole years in the prison being tortured and come out just like nothing happened and no time passed by. To me, all that doesn't make sense and I'd like F2 to have a decent timeline.

2) more armor and less useless weapons. You have tons of weapons, but you only really need about 10 or 15. all the others are crap. Yet for armor and if you are a fighter, you only have the leather armor, the chainmail armor and the plate armor. That is really not alot of choice. How about full plate, half plate, magic armor??

3) yes, like others have said, longer game. Starting over and substituting that with playability is not true: the affect of playing the same game as a different alignment is not the same as playing a new game. We all want a 50 hours+ game.

4) F1 was great, don't get me wrong. Build on what you have to make F2 even better. Don't change the feel to it, the speed the hero moves when he walks in F2, like Halo 2 did. Then the feel to the game is different and you loose something good.

5) Big, long quests and simple quests. The Twinblade quest is a perfect example of a good quest. there is more than bashing out enemies, you need to take time to play a game, scratch your skull to find out how to do this quest and make you think! that makes us hooked and keeps us coming. More quests that give you magical weapons and armor.

I'll update some more later.

I will edit some more later.

2. What is my character's family history? How about more story line on that to make me feel like I am in the realm. There where lots of un answered questions like what happened to the kingdom? Why did it fall?
(Edit: How the hell we quote )

Read the books...

---

What I would like is more defined classes, like if you want to be a mage, well actully you can't, spells are too weak.

--

5. BE CAREFUL OF ERRORS. I pulled the Harbringer already but the people around are still pulling and chattering about it. I finished the Archery Competition, Temple of Avo and Chapel of Skorm quests but they are still in my current quests.

Since you can still give money and people to give you good/bad or to remove some ages, both of Temple of Avo and chapel of Skorm should always be there.

--

Like everyone is, I am sad of the hours of gameplay, as it was posted on page 1, 100+ hours would be great.

--

Beign able to be a female, why not?

...Sorry for my terrible english, I'm from canada...

Here's my problems with the original Fable:

#1 - Way, way too short. Needed a extensive storyline rather than something that I can finish in one day.

#2 - I didn't like the fact that you couldn't choose your gender. I dislike most games that you can only be male or only be female. There are a few exceptions of course, but the gender issue still bugs me on those games.

#3 - The customization of my character was very important to me. That is one of my favorite things about RPG's is the customization of your character. Now I will say that I liked the options you had to customize, maybe just expand it a little like some people where saying the color of your hair, the color of your armor. I was also personally wishing that you could choose the color of your tattoo(s). I do know that the Xbox 360 graphics can definitely handle that since it's coming out christmas season of 2005 or early 2006.

#4 - As many people have said the dialogue is very limited. You only have yes or no answers. You can't say something like "#$%#@ off you stupid meatbag!" or even "No thank you, I'm kinda busy right now." You should definitely upgrade that. As well as the dialogue with your wife. When you can just stand in front of your wife for a couple minutes and then she asks you if you want to have sex. That just seems wrong to me. I would like to see the general dialogue expand, and maybe in with the dialogue thing being able to have your wife ask you or you ask your wife if either of you wants to have kids.

#5 - The aging was way too quick, and then the fact that it only said like 2 game days had passed. That's just not right. As some people were suggesting maybe make it so that you age at certain points in the main quest or maybe once you accumulate a certain amount of experience. Like maybe for your first age change you need say 10,000 experience then for the second 20,000 then so on and so forth.

Those where my only real big problems that I would like to see fixed. Well my first post here and I'm pleased with it.

Edit: Great do you know anything that will be different in lost chapters?

I to think that new weapons would be good, eg. tridents, spears, war hammers.

You should be able to buy and use the boats that there are at the docks.

The northlands and more of the hook coast island should be included as well.

Also I think that a new skill could be forging or crafting, so that you can make your own swords or bows.
Lv. 1 could be iron/yew
Lv. 2 could be steel/oak
Lv. 3 could be... you get the picture.

Also, a minor quest could unlock secrets of the old ones where you find a book in the northlands and it tells you how to forge master weapons.

You should be able to, if you are level 4 forging, be able to make any weapon of yours with 5000+ kills legendary and name it.

Finally, you should be able to encounter:
1. More white balverines.
2. Dragons!!!
3. Fire monkeys (see the tatoo card).

While I like some of the ideas that have been suggested, I think it is important to keep in mind how unique Fable was when compared to all the other RPGs out there; a few of you commented on this already.

I Enjoyed the English humor, (telemantros=Monty Python fan), as well as the quick/easy lvling system. Graphics were great but in my honest opinion, Fable stands out in the musical score... I have not heard this type of quality music in many other titles.

My only issues with Fable were the most common issue, length. As well as the less important issues of:
1. Inability to sell unique weapons
2. Load times between screens, although I'll accept this if graphics were to be hampered w/out loading.

And that's about it... I think Fable Lost Chapters will Band-Aid cure some of these issues so here's hoping

8.more areas, and abiltys.
9.more demonic forms for evil, like devil wings, claws, tail, with good guys just add wings and make the halo and butterflys stay while ur walking.
10.whAT ABOUT A CAPE, long demonic cape for evil, long glowing cape for good, and just a long cape 4 netruel.

I want use a shield or 2 weapons at the same time. With a 1-handed sword your second hand is always empty, I think that's strange

MORE STUFF (im not sure if i might have posted some of these suggestions already)

how about an option of becoming a 4 armed person (more weapons to carry around). or how about more types of weights for weapons (i.e. wood, bronze, iron, steel, silver, obsidion, gold, master, legendary weapon). invisibility (lv. 1: 10 sec. lv. 2: 30 sec. lv. 3: 40 sec. lv. 4 1 min.). customizable tatoos/ hairstyles. (i think i might have said this before) body peircings: ear ring, nose ring, belly button ring etc. how bou' changing skin color: like green skin (like a lizard), blue skin (for a wizard) etc. you should be able to sit down and sleep wherever you want like in morrowind (but im not sure if you could sit in morrow wind). Great wood and Darkwood should have towns like in greatwood the town is in the trees. in darkwood it is underground.(not like the hobb cave). there should be more parts to the gibbit woods like gibbit wood lake, gibbit wood settlement, gibbit wood exit, etc. and you should be able to take your weapon into bowerstone south / north if you are evil/legendary/strong enough it is REALLY not cool that everybody you bring in can have a weapon and you cant. and more of a variety of choices for donations for the temple of Avo/Skorm. it could be like an optional quest like: bring the priests from Darkwood entrance to the Chapel of skorm. or: Assasinate the evil ones. and than after about 5-10 hours of service to the god, Avo or Skorm will give you the mission of killing the other. and the battle would be 5 times harder than the battle against Jack o Blades. you should be able to ride horses and have a jousting competition in like a bowerstone north Arena. you also should be able to roam freely (i mean having all places open to you in the beginning of the game like witchwood cullis gate, hook coast etc.) and go around bowerstone so you can visit the areas behind the city. there also should be a level as if you die, you have to pass a test in the underworld to go back to your back to your body and than there would be people standing around it saying "is he dead?" and than if/ when you finish the puzzle, your soul is sucked up back into your body and everybody starts aplauding and saying: "He beat death!" you also should have pets: like a dragon that will follow you and help you kill enemeys. there also should be WAY more doors. im thinking like 50 doors. and there should be more silver key chests and more silver keys. (like 100 or so). and there should be a potion that brings up the power of your arrows for the rest of the game (like the theives elixer).(i might have said this earlier) FLAMING BLUE EYES if your good (if you have red eyes when your evil y not when your good). and you sprout little wings that become as big as your body when you are fully good.
yup... that sounds about it.

1. Fable 2 should be harder and longer.
2. More customizations in Appearance! Change hair color, skin color, tatoo color etc.
3. Not getting old so fast and let all the others young. Like the Guildmaster looks at the end younger than you!
4. Being fat! (like in GTA) If you eat loads of food in Fable they say you're fat but you still look normal
5. More Weapons, Armors, Shields, Capes and Robes.
6. Crafting Skills. Lets you make your own Armor and Weapon and improve them. Or change their Appearnce. There should be clothe dyes, leather dyes and color for metals to change the look of your armor. And crafting should let you engrave your Equipment.
6. Choosing on being male or female.
7. Skills to improve your Weapon skills. Some thing like: On the first stage you only hold your sword like a weakling and you have only a combo with 2 moves. Later at a high skill rate you can use ultra-combos with a devastating hit at the end! And you hold the sword with a cool pose. Plus you hit harder and faster.
8. Learn from Hunters how to cut out trophys from killed beasts or the fur or meat. And let you cook the raw meat.
9. Steal from peoples, shopkeepers or beat and rob them.
10. More things in movement. Jumping, climbing or something like that.

I'll try not to rehash too many points already made, but here are some of the obvious ideas....

- Longer game (that's been said over and over)
- Better conversations (with dialogue you can choose, a la Deus Ex)
- Better weapon and armor variety (Somehow, the only people who have shields are dead outside the hobbes cavern. Guess it didn't work for them...)
- Customizable gender and appearance. (Since Neverwinter Nights, I've found little use for games that force me into one cookie-cutter protagonist.)
- Larger, more expansive milieu

Here are some deeper ideas...

- Build a better weapon augmentation system. This one works, but it plays like a stripped-down Dungeon Siege II.

- Personally, I would rather have an attack routine like Whisper than the slash-slash-spin-slash I keep seeing. Yes, the graphics are great, but better textures doesn't make it a better game.

- Better emphasis on unarmed combat. I like the fist fight clubs and the opportunity to take on a quest unarmed, but there's little beyond that to support the idea of an unarmed character. Give monk fanatics something more to work with!

- Guide players into particular professions. I'm old school, so I find it ludicrous that a character with immense spellcasting abilities still needs a sword to knock down some of the later monsters. It's probably not a popular opinion, but I don't think mages should use weapons. ... or want to, for that matter.

- Deepen the role of guile. Give thieves a chance to really make an impact. I didn't have much use for the game's "sneak" mode, but I should have.

- Customize quests to the profession. Magicians get quests fighters never see, and fighters get quests rogues couldn't handle.

- Scale down the damage and armor rating system. Somehow, fireballs that score 1100 points of damage and only knock down a monster seems clumsy. What's the point?

- Work in some ammunition system. The mythical endless supply of arrows came to its logical conclusion when Diablo II took over.

Some upsides ...

- Although it's dreadfully simplified, the skill progression system really works for me. I like the idea of collecting generalized skill points and spending them how I want.

- I may be contradicting myself, but I liked spells catered to a class. I think Assassin Rush is the next best thing to sliced bread. And it's perfect for my rogue-ish characters. At the same time, Battle Rush works for my fighter-types. Just make them harder to improve, which reflects the non-magical nature of the character.

I could go on, but most of this has been said already. I really liked Fable TLC, and I would definitely pick up a copy of Fable II, if I saw it had built on what this one omitted.

  • A larger world, which isn't seperated into small corridors.
  • Settlements available for raiding.
  • Allow for recruitment of townsfolk to fight with you.
  • Trade professions.
  • Sub-classes unlockable with regards to your play style, allowing further customisation and differentiation of each character.
  • ONLINE SUPPORT.

More to come

About 9 years ago I played a game called Daggerfall. I had so much fun playing that game because I could just do side quests, travel the world, interact with people, join different guilds. Granted it was not exactly the best looking game and took awhile to become stable, but damn it was fun to play.

I think I just kept pluking along for months before I decided to finish the quest and the game. It pretty much had what most here are requesting. The world was huge, you could travel quickly or the slow way. You could be good or bad, or both.

While Fable has some great things going for it, the lack of imagination with the quests and the incredibly small world make the game just seem small. I am still enjoying the game, but truly there isn't much you haven't seen or done by the half-way mark.

There also seemed to be a shortage of different armor you could find, the weapons were either ok or too strong. I wanna jump!

There's more, but most here have already posted many of my thoughts.

Overall I agree with most of the comments. Fable was a solid RPG that introduced concepts that weren't touched as in depth before. It has a high replay value and will surely be a favorite for years to come. However for all this games strenghts there are many flaws and things to be desired. I would like to see a bigger world, with more area's to explore first off. If you look at a map of Albion you'll notice that about 3/4 of it is empty space occupied by mountains or blank forest. Also I think the thing that made so many people jump at the thought of Fable was the idea of a level of character customization never reached before. While it was impress it still left so much to be desired. What about specilized professions (ex.bartender, black smith, mercenary), or the ability to dye hair when you get old. How about weapon forging anything deeper than just sticking an augementation on a sword. Also for all the womens rights activists what about the possibility of choosing a female charcter. While I don't think these changes will happen over night I hope Lionhead Studios will listen the fans and grant some of their requests in future Fable releases.
